have you ever booked a vendor without seeing them in person?

just wondering. i like a dj but have no time to go see him. im afraid he will get booked. am i nuts?

I live in Michigan and was worried that the DJ we wanted would get booked before we could get home to meet them first, so we booked them just based on the research, the recommendations, and the two hours he spent on the phone talking to us!

I booked my photographer w/o going to see them. I also booked my limo w/o meeting them too.

i did, my dj was referred by my hall and i spoke to him on the phone many times. he was so nice on the phone and he said he would write into my contract that he would be the one at my wedding, no one else. well turns out there was no contract, since it was a package deal and he sent some random guy the day of my wedding and since i had never seen him, i thought it was him, until i get to talking to the guy djing my wedding and find out its totally not the same guy. the guy that was there was absolutely horrible and i was extremely upset. it is truly the main thing that i regret about my wedding day. i would make sure you meet him first or at least make sure there is a contract and that its written in who u like will be there

I actually booked all my vendors without seeing them in person. They came highly recommended from some good people and I looked them up on here, as well as other sites. And that's how I made my decision. Working 80+ hours week doesn't give you much time for meeting with tons of people.

When all was said and done, they all ROCKED!

I booked our officiant without meeting him. FH spoke to him on the phone, and he sent us a copy of the ceremony. I didn't feel like we needed to meet with him.

HELLO FELLOW CT'ER....

I work in CT, live in NY (well not for long, leaving my job in CT in two weeks) ANYWAY...

I booked the following vendors w/out meeting them:
Vinny from High Voltage Sounds (DJ)
Marianela Vera (Photography)
Romantique Limosines (Limo's)
Maxine (DOC)

Some of them actually give you a discount if you don't have to meet w/them! I'm doing fine - I went through referrals, and I trust them 100%!
