Have you ever had a tiff with anyone in your BP?

Believe it or not, I am having an issue with my MOH. I tried to extend an olive branch but I don't think she's receiving it. Has this ever happened to you with either your MOH or other member of your BP?

Your not the only one. One of the first things I learned on this website was your learn who your true friends are when your getting married. I hope you and your friend reconcile, but at least you know you tried on your end.

It will totally suck if she's mad enough to bow out altogether. I've heard of brides losing friends over weddings, but I sure hope this is not one of those times.

Do what you can to make the best of the situation. If she's truly your friend, then backing out of your wedding should be the last thing on her mind. She's your MOH for a reason, maybe you just need to sit down with her and remind her why you picked her in the first place. Not sure if the problem is realated to your wedding or not, but if it's a separate issue, then seh should really respect that and not bring that problem to her part in your wedding. I'm not sure what the full story is with your tiff, but I would strongly recommend that you do what you can to keep it from getting in the way of your friendship. It's true that so many friendships are damaged/lost because of weddings, but don't fall into that statistic! Best of luck sorting it all out!

Yes, I'm going through something w/ one of my BM's now. I don't know what to do about my situation either. Ugh! Good luck!

That is why they are my X- BM's and no longer in the bridal party....

I regret picking my Bridal Party early in the planning. My advice, wait on picking who you want to be apart of the Big Day!

yes

i asked my 'best' friend to be a BM and she said yes....then never returned my calls (long story) and she ended up not being in it. Don't get me started!

It's true, weddings bring out people's true colors.

One of my BMs is my FSIL. For 6 years I felt that we had a good relationship and this wedding has just put a really tense edge on us.

I've been on the other side - the MOH that couldn't stand the bride during the planning and now we no longer speak. I think both people need to look at their actions - she did some things to me and in hindsight I realize I should have said something sooner instead of letting it simmer and boil...

As a recent bride I made certain to be fair and honest with my bridal party - I kept in mind the reason why I chose them - they are special people in my life.

If the problems persist do yourself a favor and appoint someone new - your MOH should really be a person that wants to be there

There were people who weren't in my wedding who I wished were but I had picked so early it was too late to add them.

I'm having a very small bridal party as it is. My FI wanted nothing to do with a BP and only conceded because he loves me and knows I want a nice wedding. (He was married once before and saw how friendships fall apart over the stupidest wedding stuff.) I just sent an e-mail to my cousin whose wedding I was in 13 years ago and apologized for any and all stuff I did to drive her crazy, because now that it's my turn, it's tough.

Thanks so much for the sound advice. I at least put a call into her. She hadn't returned the calls I put into her at work and it turns out she wasn't even in the office when I called.

Thanks to this thread, I just sent out an 'olive branch' to the BM I've recently been having the 'thing' with. You guys and my Mom are right...better to get feelings out in the open than letting them stew for months! Thank you!
