My sis called in her final count and they gave her her final payment and told her there was a $2000 surcharge also. Anyone else herd of this?
oh God. I don't know WHAT I'd do if my hall tried pulling that on me. I wouldn't even have it to give 'em. I'm surprised they didn't already have this in the contract. Or maybe they did and your sister just didn't notice??
No they didn't say. She looked through her contract and couldn't find anything. My father is going to call them tonight. I thought it wa very odd. Espically that much.

I never heard of that and $2000.00 is alot of moeny to just come up with out of the blue.

Yes they are passes there min. I don't see why it would be a sur charge either

Yes it's a long island hall. it's the Fox Hollow. We had our E-party there and there was no sur charge then.

Is she sure that that amount is not for taxes or gratuity? Although it is too even so I doubt it but definitely call bc that amount is too much.

Definately call and ask what this $ covers. It is possible it was a mistake for your sister but something they are doing for future brides -- with the cost of fuel and food surcharges will become more common.
I emailed the girl I've been working with re: my final planning, and it's the service / tax fee. Not sure if they call the whole thing a 'surcharge' or if the OP's sister misheard the term 'service charge' and thought the receptionist / whomever said 'surcharge.' Just wanted to let the OP know .....
