Have you ever walked out of the theater during a movie?

Original post by marymoon

If so, what movie and why?

I wanted to walk out of the pallbearer b/c it was so bad, but we all stayed b/c it was taped near our neighborhood, so we wanted to see local sights.

On Broadway I saw 'The Goat Or Who is Sylvia?' in previews and people just kept walking out throughout the show, by intermission only 1/4 of the audience was left. The play was about a man who falls in love with a goat. Its not a sick play or a play about or condoning bestiality, but it has a lot of meaning, for example, he can't help loving this goat, but he condemns his son for being gay. I thought it was a brilliant play. People didn't get it, I guess. I mean, HELLO! it's Edward Albee, did you expect sunshine and roses? I think I just hijacked my own thread in the first post

Well I loved Natural Born Killers, and I've seen Fight Club like 30 times.
But I did walk out of ShadowMan and Dreamcatcher( worst movie ever made)

I stayed for Dreamcatcher even though it was the worst movie I have EVER seen it was hysterical how bad it was... suppossed to be scary but everyone was laughing at how horrible and stupid it was!

I really really wanted to walk out of Eyes Wide Shut but my best friend wouldn't leave so I just sulked and pouted until the worst three hours of my life finally came to an end.

This is the only movie i ever walked out of too!! AND we only paid $1 to see it (b/c my friend worked at the movie theater at the time).. but still, we felt complately robbed... and Violated.

I wouldve stayed for the rest of it though- had i had an Ice pick to stab my eyes out, but i didnt

I think the first week a movie opens you should be allowed to ask for a refund if you walk out within a certain amt of time.

Usually if its within the first half hour of the movie, you can get your $$ back. Although, its really not the theaters fault if the movie stinks, or you just dont like it.
I worked at a movie theater through college.

Team America... I think that DH and I are the only people that thought it was extremely boring. Right after the 'puppet sex scene', I made DH get up and walk out.

I wanted to walk out of ADAPTATIONS - it was a horrible movie - but I was mesmerized by it because we were in the front row. I still have no idea what it was about!

Wow - I'm surprised this many people have walked out.

I walked out of The Cell with jlo.

Probably the most misogynistic movie I've ever seen. I should have asked for my money back.

I never walked out of a movie.. even once when i accidently saw Other Sister instead some movie I wanted to see which started with 'Other ' in the title.. hehe wondered why I had to wait so long for the movie to start.

heh

I did however HATE 'White Man's Burden' with John Travolta... I couldnt even bear to watch it when I rented it. Kept finding excuses to get up and walked around...

Stupid, boring, fake and basically BS.

Odd thing is a lot of the movies ya'll walked on, i either liked, or made my way through.. The one I can agree with so far for wanting BADLY to leave was Blair Witch

My brother the ending was great but even before the first one dies I was laugh at the stupid stuff going on.. forget it after the nose drip scene. I mean folks were screaming 'Rip off' 'Give me my money back' in the theatre in Chelsea. So bad.

I remember I could NOT get a refund on Star Commander because it had the Star Wars Trailer I just HAD TO SEE! They came out and warned us. It was bad, but not Blair Witch bad.

I don't go to a lot of movie. I have been tempted to walk out of 2 broadway shows. Jeykel and Hyde being one and Night Mother being the other. I was so happy when Edie Falco's character finally killed herself(Night Mother) I had to fight my urge to applaud!
