These are the only stores that carry Venus which is who makes the BM dress I want. Have any of you heard anything, bad or good, about any of the following places?
-Angel Bridals in East Islip
-Estelles Dresses in Farmingdale
-Lidias Bridal Boutique in Copiague
-Paradise Bridals in Patchogue
-Ragamuffins in St. James
-Wedding Center in COmmack (I always forget which was is the good one and which one isn't)

I went to Estelle's once. My friend from LI brought me to that store when I was looking for wedding shoes. I ended up buying a dress for my cousin's wedding from there this past summer. They have a great selection of party dresses. I didn't check out their BM dresses. I'm pretty sure Denise(Espo22) got her engagement party dress from there.

I went to estelles for a prom dress. heard it's gotten alot better.
I went to the wedding center (if it's the one off of commack road) it wasnt that good. do a search on here. there are alot of negative things about it. The people were very rude too.

Re: Have you girls heard of any of these places??
I have been to estelle's and paradise bridal
Estelles has a huge selection and I believe they are even willing to order dresses if they do not have enough and in the sizes you need. Just make sure you look all the dresses over because most the time it is off the rack. With that, even if you buy your bridal gown there, they do not do alterations. They do not also accept and returns or exchanges on certain (meaning most) things. My friend bought her gown there, got pregnant and had to get a larger size. They would do NOTHING for her. So if you are 100 % on that dress, no one will need a different one, then it's worth a look.
Paradise Bridal is much more of a salon. I was just there trying on wedding gowns and loved the lady who helped me. I have heard people not being crazy about their alterations department (a friend of mine got her dress and wedding parties from there), but it was all fine in the end. When I was there trying on dresses another bride was there for her final fitting. They had added over a foot and a half of material to her gown (you should have seen this train when all was said and done) and then had to do this special drop bustle. It looked gorgeous!!!!!
So there is my two cents!!!

see i went there(Estelles) but the bridesmaid dress selection, i felt, was lacking..i went there, too , looking for a brand of bm dresses i like and i saw nothing..
but i love their regular gowns...they have a large selection of the same gowns...so you might be able to find something that is not a bm gown but can be used as one

I went to Lidia's, they are so nice there. Many of my friends, I found out after the fact, went there as well. They all loved it.

Re: Have you girls heard of any of these places??
Angel Bridals in East Islip - ordered my bridesmaid dresses and possibly ordering MOB dress there. Very lovely people but DO NOT go on a weekend or at least try not to way to crowded. Great seamstress there too from what i have heard.
-Lidias Bridal Boutique in Copiague - ordered my gown there. They were $250-$300 cheaper then most bridal shops and were very nice and pleasant to work with. Big enough place to move around and not crash into people who are trying on dresses also. Great seamstress I heard.
