Have you heard of these vendors...

My reception hall gave me a list of vendors that they perfer to use and I have never heard of many of them. So ladies I need your opinions if any are worth checking out:

I've heard of Stefan's and Florissima florists> I'm having reception at Carlyle and Stefan's is the recc'd florist. Florissma was one of the florists that the people at Oheka told me about. I spoke with Stefan's if you want to forum mail me I will tell you about it.LOL

Go with your gut - Times Square was absolutely amazing - and reccomeded vendors from your hall does not mean they are better - it just means they give a cut to the hall. It was not too loud with Times Square - forum me with any questions about them!

I have heard of Naked truth, they were awesome. People were up all night dancing.

Stefans florist, hired them to do my wedding in June. Neil is great to work with

I have heard of Ray OConnor photography. He is located in Northport and is so sweet. My FSIL used him for her wedding. He is definitely worth checking out, but he is very traditional with his pictures so thought you should know that just incase that isnt the style you are looking for.

I also heard or Ray O'Connor. Maybe look at vendors you want. I heard the halls get a percentage if they send you to their recommended vendors

I have heard the Naked Truth play and yes they are good!! Also, I heard of Ray O'Connor photgraphy and know 2 people that were very happy with their pkg's and pictures. But you don't have to go with house vendors, I am using a few for my Wedding just becuase I met with them and liked them and what the Co.'s had to offer, them being a house vendor was just a plus, I didn't choose them for that reason. I've heard of Naked Truth also - and that they were good.

I used Florissima for my wedding in August and I was very happy with them.

Stefans is awesome for florist. Steve or Neil there is great. You can't go wrong! Flowers are always fresh and beautiful and they do a lot with the money you give them- stretch the dollar. I love them. love them, love them- and they are the second vendor (with Wild Rose) that I am not worried at all about! They will do a spectacular job!

I'm using Naked Truth as our band. Joe has been really great to deal with. We've seen them several times out in bars & they're very good. If you call, they'll tell you where they'll be & definitely go. They don't do wedding shows, which is good.

I'll report back after next week & review it all!

We are using Ray O'Connor for our wedding next September. He is traditional (his stuff is gorgeous), but we also paid $450 extra to have several rolls of black and white photojournalism done. Ray is a sweetie - he won't be dpoing my wedding because his son is getting married the same day as me - and I would recommend checking him out.

My dad is friends with the people in Naked Truth. I have personally never heard them but he says they are amazing (and my dad is a harsh critic being a muscian himself). Good luck!

Thank you all. I will check out some of them then. I am quite aware that I do not have to use these vendors. This is a private club and so they say they do not get anything by using these vendors but this list is NOT house vendors but just vendors that have worked frequently at the club, were reliable, and they liked to work with them. Which was why I was wondering why Times Square Orchestra was not on there.
Does Naked Truth have a web site?

My cousin used Ray O'Connor and was very happy with his work. We met with him, too, and I agree with the other posts here...he is absolutely sweet and his work is nice, but very traditional. We ended up going with Imagine instead.

I have heard Bugs Moran several times. Quite a few people I know used them for their weddings and I have heard them play in the city. They are great!

I attended a wedding where the John Marshall Band played. They were very good Everyone was dancing all night and they played a great selection of songs.

Christopher's bakery is not the best. We were going to use them at my job as the 'house bakery' but the pasteries he brought us were not fresh and tasted old.
