of couples requesting that all liquor bottles be sealed on the day of the wedding so you can make sure it really is top shelf?? I heard that somewhere but I would feel uncomfortable saying that..I'd feel like I was insulting the hall or something....
TIA!!!

I've never heard of this before. I trust our RH to make sure to liquor is top shelf.

I guess you just have to trust your catering hall.

I've never heard of this but I think it is a reasonable request.

I've never heard of that. I guess it makes sense, but I would rather just trust them than make them angry when they have my whole wedding in their hands!

Re: Have you ladies ever heard...
I can see your conflict...but hey, if you want to be sure you're getting what you pay for, what's the harm in asking?
I think they'd be annoyed slightly, but after the shock wore off, I can't see the real harm in fulfilling the request.

Re: Have you ladies ever heard...
As somebody who used to work for a very popular catering hall, it is not an unreasonable request at all. I used to watch the bartenders pour imitation Malibu, the good Amaretto (can't think of it), Cap't Morgans, etc. into the brand name bottles. I know if where I worked did it, I'm sure many of the other ones do as well. Just as an FYI.

Not an unusual request at all. Before you make the request I would reveiw the guest list and figure out if anyone on it would really be able to tell the difference.

Thanks ladies, after reading lollipop's experience, I think I may just hint it to my BM or maitre'd. Just jokingly and see they're reaction. I'm not going to come right out and say it. Thank you!
