Have you or would you wear jeans to a Bridal Shower?
Original post by mybabylovesmoi
My friend just asked in our group email chain what everyone is wearing and if anyone is going to wear jeans for my shower this sunday.

No jeans. I agree about the dress pants if you don't want to wear a dress.

i would rather show up in my $200 sevens then some khaki skirt from target.... that being said it depends on when and where the shower is, and how much you dress up with blouse blazer, shoes, jewelry, etc.
jeans will never be my FIrst choie, and i would NEVER wear jeans and flips, it would be trendy high end jeans with hot shoes.
What's wrong with Target? It's not like anyone will know my dress is $20 or that you're jeans are $200. It's not what you wear but how you wear it.
just sayin.

actually I have - but i looked tres cute , and no one thought anything of it.
i think you have to know the group attending. I was very close to the bride and knew she wouldnt think twice about it
i had fantastic jeans on, dark denim with these cool kinda like sequins and a nice top ( i had just lost 50lbs and was showing off the curves)
i might not do it again - but jeans can be trendy and appropriate ... if you pull it off correctly.
ya gotta look very put together- with pair of pumps - glam makeup and a outstanding top.
but i see im not the majority here LOL

No! If I decided not to wear a dress, I would wear dress pants.

I LOVE my jeans. I am actually going to my shower in jeans. I am not a dressy type person, you can find my wearing my Life is Good t-shirts and jeans. I am not trashy looking, nor frumpy. My hair is always done and sometimes makeup. If I have to dress up, I will, but I can pull off jeans and a nice shirt.

Never - I dont care if its in a backyard.
Anything with an invite (unless a theme is involved) warrants you wearing something nicer then jeans, IMO.
Areed! Even if it's in a backyard I'm wearing a sundress and sandals!! NEVER jeans to a shower!
I love dressing up anyway!

in response to anneys question
at first i thought hell no i would not wear jeans
but after reading everyones responses....dark skinny jeans and heels may totally be acceptable if worn the right way
altho its safer to just say 'no jeans' this way there are no mishaps!

First of all, It was a personal preference, meaning I would know and I would feel more comfortable and sexy and dressed up. I have plenty of clothes from target, but i also have plenty of expensive clothes. It depends on where you are going for the shower,
and if i can wear my nice jeans better than my nice skirt i will.

I say Who cares? Wear what you feel good in and think you look your best in,. Am I saying wear ripped jeans with holes in them and sneakers? I have seen plenty of cute outfits that are dressy and appropriate that consist of jeans, a dressy top and cute shoes. I wouldn't care if a person wore sweats to my shower..in fact I think my Aunt did! It didn't bother me at all..there are way more fun and important things to think about that day! Don't sweat it!

I agree with this. You can definitely dress up jeans, but personally to avoid myself questioning if I'm dressed appropriate I'd prefer to avoid jeans as an option. I also wear jeans everyday to work so I feel I need to change it up.
