FH and I have. I don't think you should get married unless you've talked about kids!! We both want to be married around 2 years before we start trying to have kids.

We talked about it also - but we will probably wait three or more years before we start having childrens...I guess that makes it 2 years after the wedding.

We both want 2 kids... and as much as we'd like to have them right away, we'll probably wait until we're at least 27. (we're 22 now)

We've talked about this a few times, I agree def. something you should talk about before getting married...

We want 2-3...maybe even four (finacially allowing) and we will probably start trying a year after the wedding.... it all depends when everything is stablized..moving...a house..for me a permanant teaching position...and so on....

Yes we talked about it he wants 2 I say 3 but we agreed that it will be at least 2 and then we'd see what happens.

We have names

boy: Dominic John *DJ*

girl: he loves Emily Elizabeth, I agreed but now I also like Kassidy Ann , when he gets back from Iraq, I'll ask.

We definitely have talked about it...we've always talked about it because we both really want to have kids - we will probably have 3 and I was kinda surprised to hear that you just started talking about it now. One couple my FH and I know are not planning on having any kids and I am the complete opposite....can you imagine finding out that your FH did/didn't want to have kids when you were planning a wedding or we're already married.

(don't worry this didn't happen to our friends)

I think it depends on where you are in your life when you get married. I have discussed, in depth, with FH about having children within a year of our wedding. Neither one of us are very young (both 34 now - will be close to 36 when we get married). Id have to go off birth control for a few cycles to determine whether or not I actually CAN get pregnant. I don't know how long it will take for me.

He said he wanted some time alone before we have kids but to be honest, after we move in together (by summer time) we will have that time alone with each other before the wedding. I was a child born to an older mother and would not choose that for myself, but I am left with no choice. My mother was physically limited due to health problems associated with her age and continues to be.

I do know that women start families later in life and that is perfectly fine. However, my family has a history of issues surrounding pregnancies. In my line of work, I know that oftentimes, problems conceiving, carrying and delivering are associated with age. Not to mention the possibility of a chromosomal disorder. My mother had a child born with Down Syndrome the year before I was born who died a few weeks after birth. Sometimes too much knowledge can be a bad thing.

With all of this to consider, I wish to have a child as soon as I can AFTER AND ONLY AFTER I am married.

We have decided to start trying about 2 years after the weding. I will be 30 then and he will be 31. We may have major problems conceiving,so if we find out sooner that it is going to be very difficult, I think we will start trying sooner. Otherwise, we really want time to enjoy ourselves. I love kids but I am not ready now.

Neither of us wants kids at this stage in life. I love kids, but I've never really seen myself as a mother. FI doesn't really see himself as a dad. So, for now, we have our kittens.

I'm in the same situation as you are. I'll be 35 when we get married and am hoping to have kids soon after.
