I just had a terrible hair trial with an LIW vendor and am trying to set up another trial with a new person. If you've had a trial or booked with one of the following people, can you please let me know how your experience was and/or post pics??

Sioux Dexter did the hair for my sister's wedding in February. There are some pics in my album under Royalton Pictures. She did a great job. She showed up on time and made us all look great.
For my wedding, I used Gabriel from Gorgeous Bride NY for the hair. He was fantastic. He arrived on time and styled the hair for the entire bridal party and my mom and grandmother. Everyone's hair held up beautifully, even though it was a humid day.

That's a tough question. They both did great work, so it's a really close call. I though Gabriel's styles were a little more innovative and unique, but for the trial with him, you would have to go into the city. I'm not sure if that's an issue for you. Sioux did the trial for my sister in Floral Park. I'm rambling now, so I'll stop. LOL

I live in the city so that would actually be more convenient for me! I am just looking for someone who can do a better job than the last one! I want to wear my hair down and that seems like such a task for people (getting long hair to hold curls when it's down). I also want someone with a good personality bc the girl who did my hair was so BLAH I wanted to shoot myself.

Sioux did my hair half up/half down for my sister's wedding. At the time, I was growing my hair out for my own wedding and it was very long. My hair did hold the curls all day, but it was a dry, February day.
For my wedding, which was in August, nobody chose to have their hair all down and curly. One girl, who has naturally curly hair, wanted hers blown straight and half-up/half-down. Despite the humidity, her hair stayed perfectly all day. My sister, niece and another bridesmaid also went partially-up, partially-down with some curls, but not a full head of curls (if that makes sense). I guess the overall look that they wanted was more wavy than curly. Again, it stayed well. My younger sister (MOH) wanted a wavy updo, which looked fantastic. She received TONS of compliments on her hair. It held up well, even when I accidentally snagged her hair when giving her a hug. (oops).
I also have to say that Gabriel was great as far as communication. He touched base with me a few times before the wedding, including the day before, just to let me know that everything was on track. I thought that was a nice touch.
ETA: Personality, wise, both were great. Sioux is very outgoing and was a lot of fun. Gabriel is a little more reserved, but was still talkative and fun to be around. He was also very accomodating when one bridesmaid asked him to do an up-do, then changed her mind. He redid her hair without complaint or fanfare.
