Having a makeup trial at a Dept. store counter

Would it be cheaper to go to a MAC/Clinique/whatever counter and find a makeup artist there, than go with private vendors? TIA!

$50 for wedding day or just a trial? I would of course want someone to come to my house...thanks!

I would call around and get some quotes. It might be cheaper than hiring through a make-up artist company ;)

Duh I just realized my question was about a trial....I actually meant how much you think a makeup artist from a counter would charge coming to your home...guess I'm hoping it's cheaper.

My sister had a makeup artist from the Chanel counter at Bloomingdale's come to the house to do her makeup for her prom...came out absolutely beautiful!

My girlfriend used Thea from the lancome counter at the smithhaven mall. I am unsure about the cost of the trial but I'm pretty sure it was $85 the day of at her house. She was amazing, we all looked great and she was very fun to be around.

MAC requires you to purchase three items OR pay $50 to have your make up done-- buying three items is always the better deal b/c then you get to keep make up!

My make up artist, Jacqueline Nicole, charges $55 dollars for an airbrushed make up trial (I believe regular make up is $15 less) so that would mean it is cheaper than the MAC make up counter b/c they do regular make up... but it's up to you...

The good thing about make up people that you hire is that they come to the house. I know that some counters in the mall will do your make up for free but I prefer the ones like Bobbi Brown and MAC (b/c their make up is really quality) and they charge for it...

Good luck, HTH... check out my album for make up trial pics from tonight's trial with Jacqueline--- beautiful, I'm so happy!
