FH and I are not really close with his sister and BIL< but we're wokring on it. There's no way they'll be asked to be in our BP, although my sister and BIL are in it. Do you think it's totally rude to ask if their kids can be RB and FG?

Re: having children in the BP w/o their parents?
I asked my brothers 2 daughters to be FG and son to my RB. I let them know I was not looking to have a very big bridal party and was trying to keep the cost down for everyone. My other brother lives with his GF and her daughter and their daughter is a jr BM. FI and I asked my brothers and significant others to present our rings during the ceremony. That way they are still included and shown off as special people in our lives. They are completely happy with the situation.

We're only having a MOH, BM, and FG & RB. FI's niece and nephew are FG and RB but we're not asking his sister to be in the wedding. I think it's fine what you're doing.

nope... My ring bearers are FH nephew and my FG's are my cousins.. None of thier parents are in it. I don't think it is rude at all.

Okay! That's good, because as long as the realtionship is OK, we'd really like to have the kids in the wedding, and we figured they'd realize they're not close with us, and it might be OK, but MY sister and BIL ARE in the BP, so I thought it might cause a stink. We'll see. I'm glad I'm not being totally off the wall.

I am close to my brother and SIL, but only asked their kids. They actually appreciated not having to endure the additional costs in addition to their children. I am having my brother be an usher and reader though.

I would be honored if someone wanted to have my kids (when I HAVE kids....) in their BP. regardless of whether or not I was included myself.
