Having difficulty with Invitation inserts

Having difficulty with Invitation inserts

I am very confused about the inserts for my invitations. I don't want to put too much into the invite, but my family is traveling from Maine. What should be included? Right now I have hotel names (had trouble narrowing that down), directional cards to Watermill, and a little map of where the church is, reception, and also where the hotels are.

BUT...there are 4 different routes to get here from New England...Orient Point Ferry, Bridgeport Ferry, going through CT on Merrick Pkway & also going through CT on Rte. 95.

Then there are directions for when they reach long island, etc...!!! I am getting stressed just thinking about all this. How did you get out of towners here??

HELP!!!!

Have you considered making a newsletter to send out in addition to your invites? The one that Kathy made for her donation is something that you could do.

I agree, I would send out a little OOT information packet. Alot of brides do this along with the STDs but there's nothing that says you can't do it separately at the same time as your invites are being mailed out.

Another option is to post it on your wedding website (if you have one).

you could include local directions, and then send a separate long distance packet just to the long distance travelers.

You should have the reservation card for the hotel blocks and the direction card from the hall & church. Anything else should be done in a letter to your out of town guests or on a website.

I would let them find there own way to the area and just send the invites with the standard inserts and the hotel listings.

For direction cards I would just use what ever the hall provided - they are usually from both directions from the major expressways.
