Aww, I am sorry that you are having doubts! I am not sure about the deposits and such, but I know if you are not sure... I would say keep looking, and dont worry!

I did the same thing with JT because it was like the 3rd place we looked at! I think its normal to feel that way, dont worry look at some more places but I think deposits are non-refundable

I think it depends on the place. Where I booked they told me I would get all of but $100 of my deposit back..... I would call to ask them and see what they say. They should of told you when you booked.Good Luck

I always asked about cancellation policies. I think almost all of the places I went to said you have 3 days to cancel after putting down the deposit - no questions asked, its nys law or something. Also, if they rebook the date for the same or more $$ they legally cannot keep any of your deposit. But if they dont rebook at all or for more money thats when your problems can arise (ie losing deposits, owing money for a party that you dont have, etc) I would call the RH that you are thinking about cancelling just to have an understanding. FYI - I wouldnt tell them that its you because they might get nervous.

ooooooh. This is a tough one. I think you have to go with your gut. If you don't like the indoor facilities, then I wouldn't do it.
The first place I was GOING to book had indoor contingency plans that I didn't like at all. I thought I could just get over it, but it ate away at me.
The place I booked now is a better fit. Even if it rains, and I have to have my ceremony indoors (I'm doing both at our RH), I won't mind it.
Go with your gut. If you aren't 100% happy, keep looking. i PROMISE you that you'll find 'the one.' It took me a long time, but it happened.

I definitely agree. I had the same issue with the first hall I booked. I felt I rushed into the decision and although it bothered me to no end I figured it'll be alright in the end. After a month and a half the feeling didn't go away! I wasn't too happy about the decor and the capacity the room could hold. Plus, I had 3 bad dreams about it! I even went back to the reception hall 2x to view the rooms and to ease my mind. My second visit with our banquet manager was a 'not so nice experience' and fh decided that we should definitely look into other places. We did and we picked a hall that took our breaths as well as my parents' breaths away. I know now that I made the right decision and I'm 100% positive that this is it! Honestly, if you have doubta go with your gut. It won't hurt to see other reception halls. It can either do 2 things reinforce what your gut has been telling you or make you realize you chose the right reception hall already. HTH!

I think that it's totally normal to have doubts-you're making a huge commitment by booking your reception hall.
If it makes you feel any better, we're having our wedding at the Harbor Club and the food is awesome. You should do a food tasting and maybe it will help you make up your mind-that's what we did.
The bakery that they use is unbelievable too-the wedding cake was probably one of the best that I've ever had.

I thought it was scary having to write my deposit check and then making the payments and I still second guess myself.... maybe if we looked a little more we could have found a less expensive place, if I waited one more week I could have gotten off season prices possibly... In the end you should be happy!

Re: Having RH doubts. Need help
Yea.. One of my best friends, who got married at EW is telling me to go with my gutt! For the $ we are spending I should be 100% happy with everything.
My other friend who got married at the Watermill is telling me, its all normal! I will always 2nd guess myself and its part of the process grrrrr
We looked at the Harbor Club and almost booked there. The only reason we didnt, is because I thought the main room was a little snug for 200 + guests. Only reason! Everything else there was great and I loved Matt!
Thats where my mother loved the most (harbor) my FH would have chose Crest Hollow if it was up to him and in the end I wanted to look more places. we saw 4, Harbor Club, Crest Hollow, Lombardi's on the sound and TC. But the mom and FH were convincing me if we looked more, we wouldnt get a date, and it would be gone by next weekend. So i cracked under pressure
So after some 'convincing' to book a place, we decided on TC, because we always loved the cocktail hour there and loved the price difference between a Fri and a Sat. only $5 as opposed to everywhere else was about a $30 difference. That was a major selling factor.
So today we are going to look at Giorgio's and CLM...So i'll keep you girls posted on what we decide.
I booked a Sat in July at the TC, so I'm pretty sure they will book there if I cancel, and yet I wont even get credit? Is that how it is all places?
thanks for all the help girls! this place site really is like therapy :content

There is a law in suffolk county that if you cancel within reasonable amount of time you get all but 100 dollars back.

Re: Having RH doubts. Need help
Update.
So today I looked at 2 more places. It helped put my mind at ease so much!
Both places were great but, they made me realize why I originally loved TC, their grounds, area, large cocktail area (inside and out), food, intimate one wedding at a time, customer service, etc.
I am definitely feeling much better today, that we did make the right decision. I think I needed to see some more places, to make me realize what details are important to me and my guests.
Thanks for all the help ladies.
Oh did anyone go to the Wedding of the year tonight at CLM?
Anyone going to Bosco's bridal show tomorrow? I'll be there
