(ducks)

I do make up and getting it done..why?
Just me, I would be nervous and I have time constraints..there's gonna be a million people around me getting ready so I decided to hire someone...

If you can do it alone and in a timley manner, do .

Seriously, you don't need a makeup artist. In fact, your makeup looked better than lots of trials so if you want to do it yourself you will look gorgeous but if you want a makeup artist, show them pics of stuff you have done and tell them to work on whatever you are questioning yourself about because you look AWESOME in the diy makeup pics.

do it yourself if you can and spend elsewhere!

I am debating doing makeup trials because it is sooo pricey!!!!!!! GOSHHHH $300 for hair and makeup trial then $300 for day of - $600 for hair and there is no cutting, dying, highlighting.

I have to say Stacey, if I could do my own makeup as awesome as you can, I wouldn't waste my money on someone else doing it-thats my opinion

ITA!!!!!! You're very talented!

Re: Having second thoughts about makeup...

I too do makeup, and got my makeup done for my wedding, and will always have my makeup done by a makeup artist if I'm being photographed (my day after portraits, Kerri's wedding I was a bm in, etc.). I personally hate doing my own makeup when I'm being photographed professionally, I like to have it done. It's also a time/stress issue as an earlier poster mentioned. I did the makeup for 5 of Kerri's bm's, and I was SO stressed by the end (not a lot of time) that I was SO glad I had planned and hired Kerri's makeup artist (who also did my wedding) to do my makeup. I would have done an awful job at that point cuz I was so frazzled from doing 5 girls' makeup including individual lashes in less than 2 hours! So I hear both sides....If you're really comfy and happy with how you do your own makeup, and you don't think doing your own makeup on your wedding day will stress you out, then go for it! But if you think that hiring a makeup artist will make things go easier or more smoothly for you on the day-of, then I would consider looking into a makeup artist you trust

I think I saw your pics before and your makeup looked awesome. I can't do makeup good, especially eye shadow so for this day I'm def going to get it done.

You've done a great job with your self-trials. I wouldn't spend the money on a pro unless I felt like I'd be too flustered to do it myself that day.
I love the way you've done your make-up in those pics. It looks amazing!

If I was you and I knew I did my makeup THAT good, I'd be super, extra critical of anyone else touching my face. I know they are called 'professionals' but they're human beings too and you do it better than any I've seen!

If I could DIY my makeup like you did yours, I would but knowing me, when Im nervous and having a lot going on I wouldnt be so good at doing it. If you feel like you wont be able to be relaxed and do it that day then I say go for a trial but if you know you'll be relaxed and will be able t do it, then go for it!
