Having to pay up front

Having to pay up front

Does anyone have to pay any of their vendors up front all the money? A couple of vendors have requested I do so, I had to tell them they have to leave something at the end to make me feel secure also. What's up with these people?

Never had this problem. Some vendors didn't even want a deposit (harpist) so I'd feel funny if someone wanted full payment up front.

Nope... and donn't do it. if you do, there is the possiblity that they will take your money and run. a deposit is fine to hold your date, but it's like anything else, you pay it in full when you get the service/product.

I'd definitely never pay it all up front. Thats what a deposit is for. Sounds suspicious to me, like why would they even suggest that?

personally i have never heard that before ~ we have left only deposits and paying most of them two weeks before the wedding (fh doesnt want to do that he wants to pay the day of he said how do we know they will show if we owe them $$ they definately will) sooo who knows what will happen with that one! I would be careful about that with putting all the money down now...Good Luck!

Re: Having to pay up front

the only vendor I paid 100% up front was the limo, and thats just because it wasn't very much.

I wouldn't give anyone 100% up front, what if they don't show up, or don't perform their services correctly?

only vendors that are paid in full as of right now are the flowers and limos.

and i don't think a reputable vendor will take your money and run. just leave a deposit and work out a payment plan

I do not know if I would feel safe giving them all the money upfront. What makes them come the day of the wedding then?

I never had that happen to me!!!!!

I have never heard of that.

I wouldn't book them if they asked me to pay the entire sum upfront.

I would feel uncomfortable paying for any vendor all up front. I think I would run!!!

DO NOT PAY ANYTHING ALL UP FRONT !!!

Re: Having to pay up front

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!

that is shady business practices. what happens if in the next year before your wedding they go out of business?????? they will have alllll your money.

that also tells me that they probably don't have enough money to run their business, and are asking for the whole amount to get by!!

DO NOT GIVE ALL THE $$$$ UP FRONT!!!!!
