Having trouble sleeping on my side.

Having trouble sleeping on my side.

Does the Snoogle really help? If it does, maybe I will buy one.My maternity book said I shouldn't be laying on my stomach or back anymore. I made sure that I slept on my side all night and I was so uncomfortable.

Re: Having trouble sleeping on my side.

Sue this has been KILLING me. I only like to sleep on my back. I asked my doctor and he said that it's not the ideal, but it's okay and if I wake up on my back not to panic, just try to get on my side.

I find that a pillow between my legs helps some, with some of it kind of underneath my belly propping it up so the weight isn't so severely hanging. The snoogle - my friend swears by it. I can't stand it. It's too long and bulky and doesn't fit under my covers easily. Not to mention that my dog is obsessed with it and curls inside the area where your head is supposed to rest and then growls when I move. So it's not for me. I use it to prop up my feet sometimes.

But it's worth the try. I know Michele likes hers.

I didn't invest in one of those snoogles, I just use a regular pillow and put it sort of under my belly. My sister also suggested getting a regular body pillow and that might work.

I love to sleep on my stomach, but after a while of training myself, I got pretty used to sleeping on my left side. I do wake up sometimes on my back and then just roll back onto my side.

my doctor said he has a patient that sewed tennis balls into the back of her nightgown to keep from rolling onto her back. he said 'she's nuts'.

Re: Having trouble sleeping on my side.

I tried to sleep on my side all night and my legs were all achy when I woke up ( I guess from being bent all night). I had a very bad night's sleep.

my legs are like cramped into 'c's' in the morning. I feel your pain. Seriously - you will get to the point where sleeping is more important to you - don't stress yourself out about it. Just do the best you can.

I hope sleeping on my side gets more comfortable after a while.

There are still some nights when I wish I could just lay on my tummy... but I noticed that it did get a bit more comfy... but then again I've usually always slept all curled up, so I haven't really felt all cramped up.

Hope your nightimes get better...

Re: Having trouble sleeping on my side.

I loved my snoogle for a few weeks, and then my nerve compressed and no more snoogle for me. It hurt to keep my leg in that position all night.
It is long and bulky- Beemer never cared for it though - and it is hard to get in and out of, especially at 3am when you need to use the bathroom, BUT I finally got some sleep with it.

I always sleep with a pillow between my knees. That is good, even if you are not pregnant. It helps to ease the pressure on your spine.

I say get one and try it for a few nights. You can return it if you hate it. I returned mine a month later and BRU has no problems taking it back.

I loved the snoogle but not so much to sleep with.
I toss and turn alot and it was to big to keep flipping it over everytime I turned..
I did however use it alot just to snuggle with while watching tv and stuff...

Re: Having trouble sleeping on my side.

I sleep however I'm comfortable, and some nights it's on my back. I also slept on my stomach till about 30 weeks.

My doctor was fine with that.
