Me and FH were looking to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon, but we just got a quote back and it was almost $8,000 for two islands for 5 days apiece!! Plus we hear you can spend up to $4,000 on the island too...that is just way too much...we are trying to get her to change a few things..but she said its unlikely to get below $6500
Can anyone tell me what they paid or are paying for an hawaii honeymoon and what islands they are doing? You can FM me if you want.....
We really want to go but I can't really fathom spending that much...so we might just do the carribbean or something..........

Re: Hawaii
We are doing Maui and Big island 5 days each for $4000 but we did it though expedia and are not going all-out with hotels. They are more like condos or small apartments. Actually they are bigger than our place now!
I hope this helps!

Re: Hawaii
I would look into purchasing someone's timeshare week. I know my dad rarely uses his timeshares and when he is close to losing them, he sells them. Might be an alternative to look into.

Re: Hawaii
We talked to Carrie at Liberty Travel in Bayshore. We are paying 3,400.00 for 13 days on two islands, Maui and Oahu. We got a great deal but we also had to make some sacrifices. In Oahu we are staying at the Outrigger Hotel and we got a room without a view. I don't care, I'm in Hawaii. I could be in a cardboard box for all I care. In Maui we are staying at the Kanappali Beach Hotel. I hear they are great with great Luaus so that will save us $ too. We got a partial ocean view in Maui and they told us that we would most likely be upgraded because we are on our honeymoon.

Re: Hawaii
Sept Wed,
8000 per person is very steep. I planned my own honeymoon and I would say that packages all differ on what you want in your package and what hotels you are staying at. I am planning a 10 day trip to Maui and the big island. While on the big island, we are spending 2 days on the kona coast and 2 days in volcano village. While in kona we plan to stay at the four seasons and at a bed and breakfast in volcano village. This will help balance the cost of the hotel. Same with Maui, we are staying at the Grand Wailea a few nights and the sheraton the other nights. It maybe a little cumbersone to switch hotels but at least we get the opportunity to stay at a more upscale hotel some of the nights and not spend too much all at once. you might be able to do this in a package and save more.

We're doing Maui & Oahu also and spending $4300 (airfare & hotel)- we booked thru Liberty Travel
I am not sure which island belongs to what hotel but we're staying at the Royal Hawaiin (The pink hotel as it's called) and the Hyatt. 5 days each island.
