Hawaii

We are going for 2 weeks - 3 islands, Oahu, Kauai and Maui. We used Liberty Travel and the agent was very helpful. Pick up a brochure from them and take a look at the islands/hotels and get an idea which islands you want to visit and where you would like to stay. I also bought Frommer's Hawaii book to read up on the sights on the different islands. Each island is different, so depending on what you want to do you can decide which islands/how long to stay on each.

Hawaii-cost? (long)

We are going to Hawaii for 11 nights, 2 islands. We are staying 3 nights on Kauai and 8 nights on Maui at the Hyatt on both islands. We bought the 'Hawaii for Dummies' book and used that to figure out which islands were most compatible for us. The book has a chart in the front that outlines what each island is known for such as accomodations, night life, beaches. We also bought Fromers and were given a travel size Zagat, which have been helpful in deciding what to do. We booked with Libery Travel as well and are paying about $6500. We have a mountain view in Kauai hotel and oceanfront in Maui. I hope this is helpful, any questions just ask.

Hawaii Info from past bride

We went to Hawaii for our Honeymoon in October. We stayed at the Hyatt in Kauai for 3 days. It was beautiful and we had a great time . There is not much to do on Kauai-- and it is very expensive to eat ! Prepare to spend a lot for dinner each night !! We then went to Maui for 8 days .. We stayed at a beautiful resort called the Fairmount Kea Lani. It is on the Wamiea part of the Island -- We LOVED it ! The hotel is all suites- our room was incredible! We had an ocean view! The resort is very upscale and the restaurant ' Nicks Fishmarket ' Is rated one of the best ! Maui has a lot more to do -- and cheaper places to eat if you go outside the hotels. We drove around the coast and just found little places to eat ! You will love it !! We want to go back ASAP -- It was well worth the money !! We booked it thru Liberty Travel ! Also got a convertible mustang on each island -- and free breakfast ! Have a great time!!!

Hawaii plans

We are going in July. 5 nights Kauai - Princeville Hotel w/Prince Junior Suite, 5 nights Maui - Four Seasons w/Garden View, and 1 night on Oahu - Hilton Hawaiian Village w/Ocean View. I booked on my own through the hotels & got my own cars (conv on Kauai & jeep on Maui) and did my own interisland. My package comes out to $5,000. When I tried to get this same itinerary through Liberty Travel they told me $6500 so I would advise checking around. We are doing the airfare from NY with frequent flier miles.

Hawaii Info from past bride

We are going to Kauai for 4 nights (Hyatt) and Maui for 7 nights (The Four Seasons). We tried to fit in the big island too, but it was just too much for us. I agree with Jackie, buy some travel books and see what interests you on each island and then you can figure out how many days you will need on each. We wanted an euqal amoung of sightseeing and relaxing on the beach. (We heard that you can't really swim in the ociean in Kauai because it is too rough). We know a lot of people who did the Kauai/Maui trip and loved it. But you won't go wrong with any of the islands...they are all beautiful. Good Luck

Hawaii

We are going to Hawaii in June and we will be staying two weeks. We also checked out the web site Foders.com and read over reviews from people who stayed in different hotels we were interested in. We also have the frommers book. We are flying to LA and spending the first night there and leave the next day for 6days on the big island and from there we go to maui for 8 days. In the end we chose the four seasons for both islands because of the frommers guide and the reviews from the foders web site. We also know a couple who stayed there last year and raved about it. We did'nt want a place with lots of children, more of a honeymoon spot. The cost of everything with car rental and staying in LA is $7200. The four seasons also sent us books with all the activities available on each island and we can make our reservations for anything we want in advance. Hope this helps. Good Luck!!

Our plans for Hawaii

We booked our trip through Liberty Travel as well, but since we're also using my FH's FF miles, we're paying $5K. (Without them, it would be $6,500) This includes: 2 nights in San Fran, 2 on Oahu at the Moana Surf rider, 3 on Kauai at the Hyatt and 5 on Maui, Hyatt as well. Also included is a jeep rental on Kauai and Maui, breakfast each AM, inter-island flights, etc.

The Princeville

I went to Hawaii for my honeymoon in Augsut and stayed a week on Maui and a week on Kuaui-- we stayed @ the Priceville and it the MOST spectacular place we have ever been to. It was very expensive, but soooo worth it. Just a little piece of advice book the romantic dinner for two with the concierge it was absolutely outrageous and one of our fondest memories of the princeville!! ENJOY IT (and the massage by the sea was great also!)

Hawaii

We booked our trip to Hawaii through Travel Solutions in Merrick with Marcia and Nancy. They were very good to work with and gave us a lot of input. I suggest you shop around, we did also check with Liberty Travel and they were about $800 dollars more.

Regina -

Thanks for the feedback. It looks so gorgeous & I've heard the weather's actually not bad in the north during summer months. I was planning on the private dinner on the beach. How romantic! Did you book that ahead or when you got there? Any other advice?
