Re: HAWAII
I'll be there in a month! We're going to 3 islands for 16 days. Big Island because FH really wants to see the Volcano and lava, Maui cause that's what everyone talks about and has many activities and Kauai because it's supposed to be lush, beautiful and romantic.

Re: HAWAII
We went to Maui, Honolulu and Kona. If we could do it all over we would just do Maui, we thought it had the perfect blend of activities and relaxation. Honolulu is so commerical, its basically being in a big city. Kona was boring, there really isn't anything to do besides the volanco. Its also a very different kind of beauty, its all black lava rock everywhere instead of lush greens. Its also the least developed so there aren't a lot of restaurants or activities, however it was nice to just relax. You can read more in my review about hotels and restaurants.

Re: HAWAII
even though Oahu is very commercial i think there is quite a few things to do there, like the lost tour! and pearl harbor, and the Arizona memorial.

Re: HAWAII
My husband and I went to Hawaii....Oahu (4 days- Hilton Hawaiian Village), Maui (4 days- Fairmont) and Kaua'i (7 days- Grand Hyatt).
Like some of the other ladies said- Oahu is the city. Most people go here to see Pearl Harbor (must see)!! The city reminded me of Rodeo Drive in California (lots of designer stores). We liked Oahu a lot. Maui was quieter than Oahu. Beautiful sunsets!!! Road to Hana, the volcano where you go and watch the sunset...all very nice. Kaua'i was the total opposite of Oahu. It is a very quiet island (called the garden island and very small (takes only 2-3 hours to get around the island). I planned our honeymoon and I decided to stay on this island the longest because my husband wasn't crazy about moving around so much, so I figured that we would travel for the first week and relax for a whole week here. We were so happy with the way it was planned. This is such a relaxing island- it stinks that everything closes around 9pm, but that still doesn't change our opinion of this island (by the end of our stay, we wanted to move there).
SInce we got married- we've helped several friends plan their honeymoon to Hawaii (we're promoters- lol)!!
If you plan on going to Maui and Kaua'i, consider staying at The Hyatt in both islands- if you do, all breakfasts are free (that's more than $60 a day in savings).
