OK..well I guess ill just say it here so others can get the info....

SO FH are contemplating Hawaii..only because we can get two free tickets....but we are just not sure about Hawaii....we are thinking very commercial....and alot of old people laying around with bad sunburns lololol..J/K..

I was just wondering if its worth it to use our free tix....Is the food pricey? Are the hotels pricey? Is it normally expensive? Reason why im asking is because the prices arent up for FEB 2008 yet and we want to book soon to get the free tix.

Re: HAWAII BRIDE

well some parts of hawaii are commercial...that would be oahu...but others are not commercial at all

kauai is very green and not commecial at all. It was actually too quiet for me.

Prices for hotels can be high but it depends what kind of hotel you are looking for and on what island.

If you could give me some idea as to what you are looking for, I can point you in the right direction for an island that would fit.

I love hawaii its the most magnificant place I have ever been

Let me know how I can help some more

Re: HAWAII BRIDE

We are looking at Oahu, Maui, maybe Lanai, & Molokai

Oahu-Hyatt Regency Waikiki

Maui- Fairmont Kea Lani or Wailea Beach Villas

Re: HAWAII BRIDE

I have been to the hyatt regency in oahu the others I haven't....Its a relativelynice hotel in oahu. To ns of shopping in the hotel. Its across the street from the beach and close to everything.

The food in Hawaii can be pricey. They have all the chains we do within walking distance of the hotel in oahu.

I would suggest going to Maui and Kauai. They are beautiful. In Maui the big thing is the bicycle ride down the volcano at sunrise. Kauai is mostly outdoor activities. They have beautiful canyons to see. The beaches are not crowded and its beautiful.

I don't know much about Molokai and Lanai. I can ask FH when he gets home. He knows best b/c he lived there till he was 18

Re: HAWAII BRIDE

I can get more infor. on specific hotels and Lanai and Molokai when he gets home. We are gonna hit Maui and the big island for our honeymoon. I ddon't specifically remember which hotels he already decided upon but he does know which ones to choose. Just remember the interisland flights are soo short and cheap i would def. hit up as many islands as you can. But remember to relax you will need a good amount of time at some of the islands.

If you go to oahu hit up Lanikai its the most amazing beach ever. It is always rated as #1 beach in hawaii on travel channel. its not too crowded during the week but can be a challenge to find. Let me try to find a picture its magnificant. I have some other beaches I can recommend if you choose to go there.

I'm sorry I just get so excited talking about Hawaii. I miss it, and we just got back 3 weeks ago.

they will do down more. We got tickets during high season for only $500. We flew straight from newark a few weeks ago and i think they were $600 (continental)which is super good and we bought kinda late.

Re: HAWAII BRIDE

Thanks!

We are going in February for our honeymoon. We also got free airline tix and I was worried about hotels/food costs, but we are hoping to try to keep things down.

Your tips were great.
