Hawaii Cruise vs No cruise

I know its far off for me to be thinking of the honeymoon, but I want to make sure that our budget allows for what we want. Surprisingly there are cruises in 3/04 and are already selling!!

I have budgeted enough for the cruise so we can pull that off. If we were to stay in any of the islands, I am concerned that it will be way expensive. Would it be worth it to see Hawaii on a cruise?

My second choice is Aruba but I keep going back to Hawaii its been my dream place for honeymoon.
Thanks.Wanda

Re: Hawaii Cruise vs No cruise

I decided against the cruise in Hawaii since I felt we really wouldn't see much of the islands. If all we'd see is a cruise ship, we could just go to the carribean. We did decide to go to Hawaii but not do the cruise but it is expensive.

Re: Hawaii Cruise vs No cruise

Has to be a personal choice but some things to think about:

Have you both been on a cruise? If not you should be careful. I get seasick and didn't know it till I went on my first cruise. That would make for a horrible honeymoon. Also, you won't see as much of an island as you may want. You have to go by the boats time frames.

Aruba is wonderful anytime of year!

Re: Hawaii Cruise vs No cruise

If you want the FULL experience of Aruba OR Hawaii, I probably wouldn't cruise it.

I've been on 2 cruises and LOVE them.
But I would suggest a cruise if you wanted to visit several different places, I think that way you get the full 'cruise' experience.

Re: Hawaii Cruise vs No cruise

We have gone on a cruise and we were fine. FH was sick one day but due to the night before drinking It was a party cruise so I didn't experience the full cruise experience.

Thank goodness I have time! This decision is another one I don't think I can make very easily. But I looked again for the cruise I would be taking if we were set on Hawaii, they only have 3 cabins left for the deck and category I was looking at!

For those that have gone on cruises that island hop, was it worth it? Since you only spend a day or 14 hours there was it truly worth it to tour the island you were at? Am I making sense?

Thanks everyone.

Re: Hawaii Cruise vs No cruise

I island hopped, it is definitley worth it, you get a taste of each island. And it is a lot of fun. Get your energy ready !!! LOL
If you want a FUll experience of an island, than a cruise is not what you want.
