Repost from 09 - For those going to Hawaii which islands do you plan to visit? We are thinking of going to Oahu, Kauai, and Maui. If you are going to Maui, are you staying in Wailea or Kannappali and which do you think is the better choice?

We went to Oahu, Maui and Kauai.
We were not impressed with Oahu so don't spend too much time there. In Maui...we stayed at the Sheraton in Kaanapali and highly recommend it.

We went to those exact islands. Loved Maui and Kauai...Oahu is more like a city so I wouldn't plan to spend too much time there. Not sure which is better in Maui-we stayed in Kaanapali.

We were going to do the same 3 islands, but decided just to do Maui and Kauai. We'd rather spend time relaxing and visiting than traveling between islands. We're not sure where to stay yet, I'm still researching.

Fh and I are going to probably go to Maui & Kauai...FFIL is letting us use his Marriott points to stay wherever we want, but we chose Hawaii because we've both always wanted to go there. The only thing is that we have to stay at a Marriott...but from what I hear, there are a couple of really good Marriott's in Hawaii...anyone ever stay at one?
When are you supposed to start planning the honeymoon? I haven't really even started...

Last night we priced the hotels we really want to stay at. We haven't booked anything yet maybe today or tomorrow...keeping my fingers crossed. Anyway we love the Four Seasons in Maui (in Wailea), the Hyatt in Kauai and the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Oahu. I don't think there's a set time in when you have to book but I want to do it soon because I want to know how much to definitely budget for.
