Is anyone going to Hawaii for their honeymoon? Is there any island in Hawaii that you think is not to be missed? Hotels that are amazing? Pls share your wealth of information with me, I am happy to hear any tidbit from you. Thanks! Alex

You must go to Maui - it's amazing. I totally recommend the Hyatt Regency.

We're getting married in April but plan to honeymoon in Hawaii in August because of our busy work schedules. FH & I plan to spend a week on Kuai'a because it's one of the most romantic and laid back of the islands. We're psyched about Kuai'a because it offers all the outdoors things we want with quiet nights to ourselves.
Then we'll spend a few more days on the island of Hawaii to do Volcano Nat'l Park and some other sightseeing. We figured we can do the other islands later as a general vacation but that we would want 'us' time at that point.
What are you leaning towards?

We are planning on flying into Oahu and stay in Waikiki for 2 nights. 5 nights in Kauai at the Hyatt and 5 nights in Maui at (not sure yet). we just have to book this now!

we are doing hawaii and plan to do oahu, maui and kaui.... i've been to hawaii before and kaui is my absolut fav!!!
also, lots of people recommended the hyatts so we may book with them

Anyone else have hotel suggestions on the HI islands? Also, did anyone see the budgettravel.com article on why prices to fly to HI have not decreased. Making me reconsider using our timeshare and just book a package instead - might be significantly cheaper in the long run.

We plan on doing maui, oahu and the big island....we chose the big island over kaui bc we wanted to go to an island with lots of activites. it seems like khaui is more relaxing and spa-ish.

we're spending 8 nights on the Big Island and staying at the Four Seasons!
we picked the big island because it is secluded and not as touristy as Maui - also, we picked it for the Four Seasons - we heard it was incredible!

FH and I will be in Hawaii in 39 days!! We are going to Maui first for 6 nights then Oahu for 5 nights. We are staying at the Sheraton Maui and will most likely stay at a Sheraton or other Starwood property in Oahu. We have not yet booked Oahu because prices keep going down! There are great rates and specials for Starwood members on spg.com, so our travel agent is on stand-by for when we finally decide.
Airfare might be high, but there are so many crazy packages and deals for accommodations, car rental, and free breakfast and other credits. I think Hawaii tourism has been hit hard by the recession so there are plenty of deals out there. Good luck!
