Re: Hawaii Honeymooners
The Hyatt on Kauai and Maui charge a daily fee for valet and self parking - it's absurd, but they know you need a car, so what are your choices? On Kauai, we splurged and had them park the car, and on Maui, we ****ed it up and parked ourselves!

Re: Hawaii Honeymooners
I am prepared to pay for this too. It sounds hmm just like NYC!!! Except in Hawaii we won't be charged $20 for 6 hours!!! If its cheaper than NY than I am okay with it. SUCK$ big time but its alot cheaper than here so FH and I will have no choice but to deal.

Re: Hawaii Honeymooners
Is it common to rent a car when honeymooning in Hawaii? FH and I haven't booked our honeymoon to Hawaii yet, but I just assumed you can take taxis everywhere or walk where ever you need to go. Just curious....

Re: Hawaii Honeymooners
Most islands you really need to rent a car. Some locations have local trolly buses, but having a car makes it nice to explore.
If you are staying on the Big Island taxis might be possible to get by with...

Re: Hawaii Honeymooners
You really want to book a car for hawaii - otherwise it is rather hard to get around - unless you plan on staying only at your hotel.
I have been to hawaii twice and we needed the car - I mean I guess you could stay in your hotel and only leave if you take a guided tour - but honestly you are better with a car for freedom -
