Hawaii Honeymooners - What airline are you flying?

Hello all. I am starting to do some advanced planning for my honeymoon. We are planning to go to Hawaii. From my initial searches online, it seems like I will need to make a minimum of two connections, and spend about 15 hours in transit. Is there anything I'm missing?

Hawaii Honeymooners - What airline are you flying?

We are going on American - leaving from JFK with a connection in Dallas to Honolulu. On the way home we are flying from Kona - Honolulu - Los Angeles - JFK. There is a direct flight but only out of Newark and I think it is Continental.

Hawaii Honeymooners - What airline are you flying?

I'm not sure what islands you are going to but this is what I have found so far. I am planning on going to Kauai and Maui. I was going to use my miles with American however I was told they do not fly direct to Kauai. I would therefore have to fly JFK-LA-Honolulu-Kauai. I believe United has flights with one layover in LA or SF. I'll probably go with United and use my miles another time.

Hawaii Honeymooners - What airline are you flying?

I wanted to go to Honolulu, does a different airport in Hawaii have more choices? Our miles are on Delta/United, and they all stopped twice before HNL. yucky! Heres another question - can you book a frequent flier mile flight that begins and ends in different cities? As in NY->Hawaii->Boston. (My wedding is on LI, but I live in Boston!)

Hawaii Honeymooners - What airline are you flying?

We are flying American using miles. Stopping in San Fran or LA (I forgot which) flying into Maui and stopping in Dallas flying back from Honolulu. We are taking a separate flight from Kauai to Honolulu. I think the only Islands you can fly direct to from the mainland are the bigger one on Maui and Honolulu.

Hawaii Honeymooners - What airline are you flying?

We start off by flying from LaGuardia to Los Angeles. Then we have to change planes and fly from LA to Maui and then change again and fly from Maui to Kauai. (American) On the 6th day we are flying from Kauai to Maui. (Hawaiian Air) On the 10th day we are flying from Maui to LA and then straight on to Vegas. (American) On the way home we are flying straight to JFK from Vegas. (America West) Needless to say, we are doing A LOT of flying!

We went in February and flew Continental out of Newark directly to Honolulu. We stayed in Honolulu for 2 days then went to Maui, Kaui, then back to Honlulu for our trip back home

Are you taking a red eye back?

We are taking a red-eye to Vegas from Maui and then, a few days later, taking a red-eye from Vegas to JFK.

Are you taking a red eye back?

We end up leaving Hawaii on Friday, getting into JFK on Saturday morning around 7:30 am. With a stopover in LA so it is a red eye from there...
