Hawaii Honeymoons-Is staying around $5k & under feasible?
Im just getting quotes to book soon to start paying off now. Well, I got one and mentioned it to my FH and he almost fell over. Now we are kind of bickering over it saying how that 10k(mind u it wasnt 10k!) could be for a house, blah,blah,blah.... Now, i wont settle for something else. I want to go and I know that this will be the only time to go. Is this realistic? Should I just give up?

Edited because I didnt read..BUT
I know this can be done for half the price if you do a cruise instead
My friend and her husband just did this and they did a cruise and loved it...FM me if you want more info

I think it is definately realistic, but you would have to stay in hotels that aren't THE BEST and probably won't be able to get ocean view rooms. But, if you economize on hotels, its definately possible!

We had a budget of 10k which included food. When we received the quote back it was 10k without food. So we did dome minor cuts and reduced the cost.
It can be done, just don't rush and take your time you will find ways. We are still staying at 5+ for the entire time, 14 days and 3 Islands we are going to.

I am going to Maui for 8 nights, and staying at one of the nicest hotels there..the grand wailea...through travelocity we paid $4400.
Of course expenses there will tack on more, but we plan on not going out for every meal and not doing ton of excursions...just ask if you want any more info!!

My friend went to Vegas and Hawaii and spent ~$6,000. (maybe less) She didn't stay at the 'best' hotels, but that is not to say they were holes in the wall either - just plain jane hotels. She also booked it herself online as opposed to using a travel agent. (I don't know if that would make a difference in the price)

We originally looked at Hawaii as a honeymoon spot and loved it. It was expensive, too expensive for us, but if you can swing it I think it is the most perfect, beautiful place to honeymoon. Our quote was $5000 for three islands for just under two weeks air, hotel & car. We could have afforded that but not all the money we would spend on food, activities, etc. Good luck!

Yea we wanna do Hawaii but we decided one island we will stay in a really nice hotel and then the other islands a cheaper one.....I am more interested in the beaches and sightseeing then spending it in my room all day! I can do that at home

It sure can be done. We looked on expedia and found this hotel called The Lahaina Resort in Maui. It would cost us $2500 for both of us.(not including food) Its not the best hotel, but as long as we're in hawaii. That's also including airfare.

It can be done for under $10k, we are probably going to pay closer to $8k....we're planning on 3 islands...staying at 2 really nice places and one cheaper....island hopping will drive up costs as will activities.
