FH and I are going on a hawaiian cruise for our HM ... everything is booked except for an extra night's stay in Oahu (Waikiki) .... the hotels that are right on the beach are about $50 more expensive than the ones a few blocks away from the beach ... is it really worth the $50?
TIA

Re: hawaii hotel location question (oahu)
is the view that much nicer though? because the rooms themselves look just as nice in the hotels that are a bit further ... and if the view isn't that different, we'd rather use that $50 towards something better (like a nice bottle of wine at dinner, or some sort of excursion or something)

it's kind of one of those 'it is what it is' situations... if you're just looking for a place that will hold you over for the night, then the view probably won't be worth it to you.
we loved being right on the beach and our room had a lovely ocean view where we would sit on the balcony in the morning and have our coffee together, but any extra cost that may have been involved was paid for in our minds because of the experience.
