For those of you who have gone to Hawaii or are going, can you please let me know which hotels you think are the best.
We are thinking about Maui and not too sure which other island.
Thanks

Re: Hawaii hotels
Oh great! I can be of some help here! We are booked at the Four Seasons Maui, which is an awesome hotel. If that is too stuffy though, The Grand Wailea next door is supposed to be awesome! We are also staying in the Four Seasons at Kona, Big Island. We did debate that though for sometime. A lot of people go to Maui and Kawai. At Kawaii, the best imo is the Hyatt Recency or the Princeville.

Re: Hawaii hotels
Someone I know stayed at the Sheraton in Maui and said it was amazing! I also heard the Ritz Carlton is very nice but its more secluded in the area it is in. We are staying in Honolulu at either the Hilton or Halekulani. In Kauai we are staying at the Hyatt.

Re: Hawaii hotels
For my honeymoon, I stayed at the Four Seasons Maui, Hyatt Kauai, and the Halekulani on Oahu. The Halekulani was by far the best for service.
You should clarify what you mean by best...

Re: Hawaii hotels
I can only talk from my experience and what I found from friends when I was doing this research....
Like Valenia said, it depends what you mean by best. I think a lot depends on your budget and what you are looking for in the honeymoon....Let me know what you are looking for and maybe I can help you more...
Hawaii-I hear the Kona Village and Four Seasons are the best hotels there. I hear both are amazing. I didn't stay at either but have friends that did and if I went to that island I would have stayed at one of those.
Maui-I stayed at the Grand Wailea and loved it. It got a little crowded on the weekend for some reason but other than that it was just gorgeous and had great service. Worth the $$$. I had considered this hotel, Four Seasons and Ritz Carlton. The Four Seasons in Maui - isn't really my style but is a gorgeous hotel and has great service (I went to Spago there and it was my favorite restaurant in all of Hawaii). DH and I walked thru the grounds a couple times and didn't feel comfortable there (we were in our bathing suits and shorts and tees and I felt everyone laying at the pool was all done up.) Most of my friends who stayed at the 4 Seasons loved it. Didn't visit the Ritz but hear it is very nice although we meet a couple that stayed there and they said they were disappointed at the service. I visited the Fairmont Key Lani (?) and that is just beautiful. (dkga1026 -stayed there) - if I went back I would love to give this hotel a try.
Kauai-I think the Hyatt and Princeville are both great choices. Of course, I am Hyatt biased. I visited the Princeville and it is gorgous but Hyatt was more our style.
Did you call Ruth? She will talk your ear off but she has lots of info on the hotels....I just booked a Mexico trip with her and she is too cute...with her recommendations. DH couldn't get off the phone with her.

Re: Hawaii hotels
We went to Kauai and stayed at the Princeville Resort...absolutely beautiful and my favorite island.
Maui: We stayed at the Kapalua Bay. Although it was beautiful, it was very secluded and far from everything. We ended up renting a car b/c taxi's were too expensive.
Oahu: We stayed at the Royal Hawaian. (the pink hotel). It was fun.

Re: Hawaii hotels
We're staying at the Hyatts in both Maui and Kauai. In Kona we are staying at a Hilton Village- something- supossed to be huge. I wanted the Four Seasons which I hear is AMAZING but too much money for us. In Oahu we are staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
