Is it possible to do Hawaii for about 9 or 10 nights for $5K or less (including flights & excursions)??? DH and I are thinking of places to go for our 1st anniversary (we're trying to get over the 'honeymoon is over' blues..lol). We would love to go to Hawaii but I'm just afraid it will be too expensive. Please let me know if it's possible. We do love staying at really nice 4/5 star hotels, I just don't know if it will be possible for us on a budget. Thanks!!!!

When we priced out a 9-10 nights in Hawaii at 4/5 star hotels, it ended up being def. over $5K --- I want to say it was about $8-9K if I remember.

I think that would be tough because the airfare alone is a lot.

my family and i went to hawaii (7 people total) for my parents' 25th anniversary and we did the norwegian pride of america in 2006 and the total cost was $10K - we spent 2 days in waikiki before the cruise, and the cruise was 7 days total. the two nights in waikiki were actually $1200 of that $10K and airfare was about $5K. i think the cruise itself was only like $699 pp or something ridiculous like that
we cut costs by going in January (much cheaper then). but we still did a ton of excursions while we were there - we did helicopter rides over volcanos, luau, rented a car in kona, etc. so there was definitely no shortage of fun.
HTH! it can definitely be done. especially if you're not crazy drinkers, you can keep costs down on the boat in that way

We priced Hawaii for our HM and 10 days was well over 5k - closer to/over 10k.

I think u could do it for 7K but I dont think 5.. Plus the flight is so long and hawaii is such an amazing place it may be really hard to budget so strict. I will say tho it is worth every single penny :)

my hm is way over $5k but i am going all out and enjoying myself. you may be able to do it if you are smart...
we did a 2-for-1 flight deal with alaska airlines, but you have to pay for the credit card (i think its $85 per year) and you can cancel it after you get back...
ncl does 7 day cruises out of honolulu and the balcony rooms is around $1,700 per person so if you want to go inside it will probably be cheaper.
