Hi all!!!! I'm new to the boards, but have been reading them over for months!!! I never wanted to register, thought it would jinx me!! But he asked! And now we're engaged! And my mom already wamnts to hit the pavement! I'm so excited, I just wanted to introduce my self! I am so sure you will all be my emotional support for the next year, I look forward to your help!!

Check out Beach Club Estate. It is right on Lake Ronkonkoma, one wedding at a time. It is a cute place.

Hey date twin! I am getting married at the Riviera (on the water) If your date isn't set in stone (or you would want it during the day..cause mine is at night there) I would check it out. It's affordable!

Thanks, I totally forgot about CLM!! I will check it out! So... what is the first 'wedding related' thing I should buy for myself? I have a stack of mags already... Is it helpful to have one of those Wedding Planner binders? Is this something my extremely sentimental mom will probably buy me? AAAHHH!!! i am just so excited!!
How about Swan Club or Harbor Club? HOnestly, I didn't find any of those planners really useful, especially after I found this site. LIweddings is more valuable than all those planners put togther, IMO.

That was such a sweet proposal, sounds like you've got a great FH!! As for a planner, I find mine really helpful to keep all my contracts and papers in. My mom bought mine for my bday, so your mom will prob do the same if you say she's really sentimental!!

Some beach weddings spots include:
Atlantica Land's End Crescent Beach Club Lessing's The Pavilion at Sunken Meadow (less formal, and the least expensive of the lot) Gurney's Inn in Montauk (these tend to be expensive, but you can get less expensive pricing if you do an afternoon and/or off season)
Also on the water (not necessarily a beach present): Sayville Country Club Venetian Yacht Club The Riviera Chateau La Mer Harbor Club Thatched Cottage Bayview House at Captain Bill's Snapper Inn (smaller, more casual) Brideview Yacht Club (I think that is what it's called!) Giorgios
