How do head counts work with the reception hall? I'm thinking you have to give them an estimated minimum when you book and then a final head count later. Is that right? Any tips on this would be great. TIA

you have to guarantee a number (they usually have a minimum and some places will lower the pp cost if you raise your guarantee). about 3 days before the wedding, you give them a final head count and pay off the balance.

Depending on the hall they typically charge less for kids. Ours doesn't charge at all for kids under 5. And then I believe it's like $45 for kids between 5-12. But they don't count in the min.
