Re: head or feet first
I actaully asked that at my last fitting. they said yes, step in, on the day. Don't know why it is always the other way when you try it on.

Step in. First put the dress on. Put the slip on second.

Re: head or feet first
I put it over my head, but only because I had a really hard time adjusting the crinoline slip and everything if I had to step into it. My mom and sister helped, and I didn't have a problem at all.

I was also thinking of putting the dress on first and then the slip...b/c I think otherwise the slip will get all bunched up...

I tried at my last fitting and it was fine. You definately need someone to help you though!

Re: head or feet first
I tried putting my dress on first and then the slip and it did not work out well...well actually...I got a good work out trying to do it! Probably with some good help though (and a little more room than the cramped changing room) one could probably put the dress on 1st.

Depends upon your dress as well. I would think if you have a substantial crinoline slip it would be hard to step in but you might need the help of a few of your bridesmaids not to mess your hair or makeup.
If not, I would say step in. I think all of my friends stepped into their dresses because I remember putting their shoes on for them after the fact.

just an idea....but why don't you put the slip on the floor, then position the dress over the slip so you can step into both at the same time. Then zip up the slip and then the dress.
EDT: Also do it without shoes, so you don't snag your dress, stockings, or slip. Then have someone put your shoes on you once you are all dressed
That is exactly the way I was told to do it.

That's what I read in a bridal magazine. I don't have a crinoline, but I definetly need help with my shoes--they have buckles.

I actually don't remember how I got dressed. I was very stressed that morning because I was running late I had my MOH and a BM help me put everything on...earings, necklace, dress, shoes...but I can't remember how I put the dress on.

That is a VERY good question. When my friend got married 2 weeks ago, we were trying to put it over her head because that's what you do in the salons. It was so funny to see us and her mom trying to get this dress on. Well it didn't work, so we had to go feet first, and she had to wiggle her body into the dress.
