I just came from a headpiece show at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place ( I bought my dress here). I didn't realize how expensive tiaras and veils can be. They say it is so expensive because of the fabric and quality. Can you girls tell me what fabric your veil is and what kind of crystals your tiara's have. I'm trying to see if they are just trying to make a big profit off of me.

Re: Headpiece show at BR
I know they are very expensive - My cousin paid $600 for hers @ BR - I don't really like tiaras so I was biased and thought she was insane - But i have to say, it did look stunning the day of the wedding ! - It was obvious that she was not wearing anything cheap

I went to their tiara trunk show...I bought mine at the massapequa show and yes it is expensive...I was kinda disappointed by this But mine also had pearls and swarofski (sp?) crystals on it and i was told that is why it was expensive as well as it being custom made

Re: Headpiece show at BR
My veil and tiara came to $700! I'm not even paying for it. My great aunt who is like a grandmother to me told me a few years back that she wanted to buy me my veil, and I fell in love with it, and bought it, but I didn't want to tell her how much it is. She made me though. I still feel bad. It is soooooo beautiful. I'm more into it than my dress

I know what you mean. I went a little over my budget on my dress, but I just loved it. And now this is the first place I have been to for headpieces and have nothing to compare them too. Is your veil silk or another fabric? Do you have Swavorski crystals on your tiara?

I went way over my budget on my dress but i fell in love and got it... now the veil... well since i spent so much on the dress and it does not look cheap..what do i do about my headpiece i want swarovski and pearls..(comb or tiara... not sure yet)
i know they altleast double the prices at BR and kleinfeld's and many other boutiques
try Burton's or online... they arent even that expensive on Swarovski.com also try Leli's head pieces... i think she is a vendor on here... her husband is a photographer and he is definately on here so you can look through that

Re: Headpiece show at BR
I forget how much my veil was, I think about 200. My tiara, which is all fresh water pearls, was an arm and a leg. A LOT of money, but I can have jewelry made from it later. The pearls are gorgeous.

Re: Headpiece show at BR
I went to a BR headpiece show case (Denise Lei), your right they are expensive, but are very pretty.
I tried a few on, and liked 2 and couldn't decide. Then I went to another place and fell in love with that one.

Re: Headpiece show at BR
I got my Swarvski tiara at the Bloomingdale's sale last week. It was 50% off, then another 20%, then another 15% off. It was a steal and it's a good tiara! I was really u0pset about how much I spent on the dress so at least I feel I saved a little bit on the tiara portion.

I saw Denise Leli headpieces at BR - her stuff is amazing. You get what you pay for...I feel the headpiece can be more important than the dress.

Re: Headpiece show at BR
I didn't think to go to Bloomingdale's. Thanks, I'll have to go there today. I can see why Denise's tiaras are so expensive, they are beautiful and she uses Swavorski crystals. But why are veils so much? I'm getting a cathedral length which might cost more because of the length, but BR was asking $500.

Re: Headpiece show at BR
I got my veil at a local bridal shop - it was a three layer fingertip veil with rolled edge for $50. They sell them on ebay for probably less then that.
A lot of ladies mention Tri-County as a place for headpieces as well as Ebay (I got mine there) and didn't pay that much.
I got my gown at BR in Carle Place and I almost choked when the COMB they handed me was $700
If you love it go for it but there are other options.

Re: Headpiece show at BR
I bought my veil at David's bridal for $115.00 (ivory, elbow length with crystals and pearls)
My gorgeous tiara was $70.00 at Barron's in the Tri-County flea market.

Re: Headpiece show at BR
So funny -- I just posted about this! I went to a show also and I'm sorry but I just cannot justify paying $650 for a headpiece!!! (That's what I was quoted) Yes, Denise Leli had pretty pieces but I saw pieces JUST as beautiful at Tri-County for a MUCH more reasonable price. I STILL don't get it --- why are they $650 at BR and $100 at tri-county????? For that price there should be real silver and diamonds in there!
