Anyone buy health insurance individually, like not through your work or spouses work? I'm not too comfortable not having health insurance while I'm unemployed. Thanks.

I was looking into this but I had no luck because it was just SO expensive! several hundred dollars a month. Good Luck. Try to get on DH/FH's if you can!

Yeah we did, i can't get on DH's until January. If I don't get a job soon I'm going to lose my mind.
I was looking at Cobra and it's like $400 a month!!! Ridiculous!

are you eligible for cobra? that can be expensive too...you might qualify for a medicaid card, as a just in case....

there are some family plus plans that are HMO related. Look it up on the web.

My BIL sells Health insurance policies, etc. FM mail me for his info. I would never go without any type of insurance, you never now. HTH

Last year when I was between being a full time student and my full time job, I used a special program through Oxford, you have to prove that your income is a certain level (pretty low), etc. to qualify. I think it was called the Healthy New York Plan.

i wsa looking for a while but the prices were astronomical!!! but there was one that seemed decent and was 89$ a month, but i never did it. i wish i could remember the company. anyway, keep looking. sometimes, your car insurance co, like state farm, offes it as well, and in that case, maybe you'd get a multi-line discount.
