I was at my god daughters christening today and someone talked about a wedding they just went to. and said how awful the food was and how they went to taco bell after.
I was just shocked because this place is very popular and just amazing.
I guess everyone has different experiences but wow this really bothered me hearing this.

I agree... you shouldn't have posted about this if you had no intentions to reveal which hall it was. Let us know so that if we're having our wedding there, we can address the situation... I'm sure most of us would appreciate it.

ive heard thankfully great things bout my venue. someone i know went to a wedding at the bcc and said the food and service were both really great. maybe they were having an off night

Ah everyone's hall deff. had something negative said about it. Everyone has their opinion as it has been said. I mean I have complained about places that I was told that were Five Star dinning and I thought it was better just to go to the ground round.
I agree if your going to post it.. then post it. F- people feelings of oh that was my hall why did you post it? Wake up no ones hall is perfect. IoI

everybody has different taste. I mean how many times people say they love something and someone else will say ugh i hate it. If its a place you enjoyed before then you can't let someone else change your mind about it.

so why post it and make people worry? I am convinced sanity goes out the window with wedding planning and I am sure many people are concerned its their venue and that there may be things they need to address before they happen.....the few negatives I have heard about my venue I have already addressed to make sure its not an issue.......

true and the other problem is that sometimes there are different cooks or maybe its just a bad day.. doesnt mean that the food is bad there all the time!!!!
but i cant say that im not freaking out about FIL's going to a wedding at my FH this weekend - i pray they like the food - we had a tasting and everything was great - but who knows !

After reading the original post I don't think it was meant for people to worry about their rh, I think it's just she was shocked that people said bad things about a great place and the overall point she was making is people will have something to say about any place, kwim? I mean how could she give a review or write what place or what was said because she wasn't there. I think it's just shocking to hear people complain, I guess everyone like to complain about everything. Point being is who cares what people have to say about your choices because there will always be people who will rave and there will always be people who rant!

I totally agree - people have different tastes, people may order weird dishes to try something new, cooks can change, or it can just be an 'off' night.

EXACTLY!!!! everyone has an off day and theres nothing that can be done...Even if we cook the same thing numerous times it won't always come out the same.

then why bother saying anything at all? I think we should have a right to know if something as not good with one of our halls so that we can make sure it doesnt happen to us! I dont understand why you posted this to begin with

well i suppose i'll add my input since everyone else has...
I read the post and was totally curious and it did give me a moment of worry like 'oh boy i hope it's not mine' I didn't ask because I just assumed if she didn't mention it its because she didn't want to be responsible for dragging this RH's name through the mud. Understandable and honorable.
However, I also kinda feel like making a statement like that and being a bride to be...ya hafta know how other brides might react to that kind of comment. If you don't want to be responsible for dragging any vendor through the mud then it's probrably better left unsaid...because without revealing who the vendor is this post only served to worry a few of the brides.
Personally, If I heard something bad about my reception hall I'd be thankful...like when i heard someone say the 2 negative things about Jericho Terrace were the bathrooms having to be shared and the chairs being ugly...I adressed that issue immediately and hopefully avoided it being an issue for my wedding...no harm done...I still love my RH...it's just 2 less headaches for me on the day of.
