heels or no heels

heels or no heels

ok so here's the deal. When I first started looking for shoes, I wanted blue sparkly sneakers or blue sparkly flats. I never wear heels and I just thought I would be more comfortable in those. Then the online hunting got in the way and I ended up buying these awesome blue high heels for my wedding. Now I am torn. I had come to terms with the fact that I may not be perfectly comfortable on my day anymore, but suddenly the worry all came back.

I loooove these heels, but I a scared I am going to hate myself for deciding to wear heels that are 4 1/2 inches high, when I never do. But I am also scared that I will regret not wearing these awesome shoes on the only day I can. Urgghhh!

Help!!! What would you guys do? What are you wearing?

Do both, wear the heels for the ceremony and a few pics and then switch into sneakers or flats. As of now I only have heels but its a low heel. I may still get a pair of flats as well to switch into just in case. Besides, two pair makes for more cute pics.

ETA: Just remember that if you do both your dress may be too long then in flats

well my problem is...I am taking pictures for 2 hours before the ceremony and I think that my feet are going to kill me by the time I get done taking pics. Also the length of the dress...it's going to drag on the floor in the front and sides. the back will be bustled, but the rest will drag. ugh, I'm lost!

I got heels for my wedding because they were do pretty but I can barely walk in heels let alone dance in heels so for the reception I got platform flip flops. That way I'm comfortable but they are still the same amount of inches as the heels and my dress won't drag on the floor.

I am wearing heels but low ones so hopefully I won't have to switch at the end of the night. If so, flops it is! I could never wear 4.5 inch heels but that's me.

I got married yesterday and wearing flip flops all day was the BEST decision i made. I was on my feet for about 11 hours and was dancing all night!

I would not wear high heels unless you are use to wearing them.

I would be careful of wearing heels for the ceremony and then changing into flats for the reception. Your dress would be altered for the high heels and therefore would drag on the floor the entire night during the reception.

I agree with this. I would stick with flats

Wear shoes that YOU KNOW you will be comfortable in all night. I know that I cannot do anything over 2 1/2 inches for more that a couple of hours so I bought a heal around that height. I know I will be good all night in them. I told my bridesmaids to do the same, because nothing is grosser than prof pics with girls barefoot imo.

That's what I did, too. You'll be on your feet ALL DAY, so if you don't live in heels usually, you will be miserable. Don't wear a higher heel than you can handle - if you're wearing a floor-length gown, no one can see the back/heels of your shoes anyway!!! Really, you only need to make sure the front of the shoe is pretty, since that is what people will see peeking out when you walk.

I totally agree with NYVaBride - people taking their shoes off at a formal party is a major pet peeve of mine too.
