I almost lost it I was fine until my dad took my arm & he was shaking....then the limo driver made a joke about going to AC & its not too late & that broke the seriousness. I was fine then until I got halfway down & saw Ray & then I lost it.

I know what you mean.....I am dreading it too. My plan is to just keep smiling, keep my head up and focus on FH. I heard if you look up and to the side your tears can't fall. But I don't want to walk down the aisle all retarted.
To be safe, hold a tissue in your BQ, so you have it in case.

In our wedding video you can see my shoulders and my chest heaving because I was breathing so hard trying not to cry.

I cried - and I was kicking myself afterwards. I made it about 3/4 of the way down - and then I was bawling. Damn DH for looking so cute!
ETA: Obviously they were happy tears. It is very overwhelming. Just try to prepare yourself for all the people and your FH looking so happy and cute!

Re: Hehhe...How do you NOT cry walking down the aisle?
I drank two Mimosas right before the limo got there-thats when I started to get really nervous/anxious
In the limo, dad and I did not speak too much both nervous we would say something to make the other cry....Dad told limo driver to put on Hot 97 (too funny thats my dad) and once we got to church-I peaked a look at DH (he couldnt see me) once I saw him I felt a bit better...walking down the aisle I had tunnel vision-all eyes were on him, not to the right, not to the left... and I was okay-deep breath, have dad tell a joke...Helped that mom was on one side, dad on the other, in case I couldnt stand lol You will be okay!

If you feel like you're going to cry... just cry. Don't try to hold it back b/c that's what I did and I had my head down the whole time walking down the aisle!! Keep your head up and look right at your soon to be husband!

I thought I was going to cry but I didn't! I almost did when my dad lost it for a second, but then the excitement took over!

Re: Hehhe...How do you NOT cry walking down the aisle?
I was actually surprisingly calm the whole day...the limo ride..calm...at the church calm.....when i was walking down the aisle it was just like this wave of happiness came over me...when i saw don i almost teared up...but then it just went away b/c the calm came over me again...then during our vows when he was saying them to me, i almost lost it, b/c he was getting choked up...but still stayed calm...i really don't know what came over me....i thought i was going to be a mess, but instead i was calm, and collected.

Re: Hehhe...How do you NOT cry walking down the aisle?
I am the biggest sap - I cry at EVERYTHING! And the weeks leading up to the wedding I cried even thinking about walking down the aisle....I was so emotional. However, the night before and that day I was cool as a cucumber - I have no idea what it was that came over me, but several people said the same thing....a calm just comes over you. I was fine and DH was crying!

Re: Hehhe...How do you NOT cry walking down the aisle?
Luckily my dad was a rock - he just kept telling me to hold him tight. But it was so hard....
I bawled in the bridal suite before the ceremony and at the end of the reception - the tears had to flow at some point!
