Helllp!

I am taking the bar exam july 25 & 26 - so right now i am taking a review course. one of my best friends is having her shower july 9th (the same day as my biggest review session). i'm in her bridal party. would you be angry if one of your bridesmaids had to miss your shower due to the bar exam review? please be honest.

No freaking' way would i be mad...if it's something to help you succeed in your dreams and goals in life!!!! You need to take care of what's important in your life too...the bar exam isn't something to take litely and your friend should understand....if she truly cares for you and what's in your best interest. Would you be mad at her if the tables were turned?

One of my bf's may not be able to make my wedding...she lives in Australia and may be pregnant or have a very young baby by the time my wedding rolls around and 24 hours on a plane would just eb too much...i was a BM for her and flew there for the wedding, so she asked if i'd be mad if she can't make it (she felt she 'owed' me)...i told her I would be dissappointed to not have her there but in no way would i be mad at her for having a baby!!!! I told her if she put off having a kid just to make my wedding THEN I'd be mad at her...haha...hope that makes you feel better about it....and good luck on the test!!!!!

thank you everyone....i just feel terrible about it. i do take comfort in knowing that if the tables were turned i wouldn't be mad at my friend.

I wouldn't be angry... you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of anyone else. Good luck!

NOWAY I WOULDN'T BE MAD. THATS SO IMPORTANT TO YOUR FUTURE. I WOULD TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. AND IF YOUR FRIEND DIDN;T I WOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT THE FRIENDSHIP.

nope!! I would totally understand you taking a review class for the test. I know that test is extremely difficult. I am sure she'll understand.

hmm, I think if this were my shower and one of my bms could not make it because of a test review I would not be angry but I would feel a little disappointed. I would totally understand though!
Maybe you can meet her at the end of the shower.
Regardless, all will be fine if you sincerely explain to her that you wouldnt miss her shower for the world but this review is critical.

You should not miss this review though!!

No not at all. she should understand how importnat the bar exam is to you. My cousin took it and we did not see her for the entire summer. It was worth it because she passed.

For that reason I so would not be angry or upset. She should understand why you werent there. Will your review session last as long as the shower? Maybe you can go after?

No not at all. One of my BM's is an accountant and will more than likely not be able to come to my shower because it will be in early April which is peak tax season. The poor thing works 100 hour weeks from Feb-April.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure she'll understand.

Hey I'm throwing a bridal shower on July 9 for a wedding that I'm the MOH in!!

Okay that was irrelevant but I thought I'd share.

Sweetheart if she is truly your friend, she will understand.

Seriously...certain things have to take priority in one's life. Sure she may be sad and wish you were there, but I'm sure she'd be understanding. I know I would.

And good luck on the exam.

Also, maybe you can take her on a nice dinner, just you and her, and a lunch. Make it a girls night, and present her with a shower gift then. Just a thought.

Def. not I would think it would be a bit bridzilla-ish if she demanded that you miss the review.
