Not if you sent a big gift

Just kidding, I would TOTALLY understand, as long as you tell her before the day. She knows what's up

I would not be angry

I agree. In fact if you tried to come I would make you decline the offer, and take care of your business. Little simple things like they didn't feel up, to it, or tired, or any typ e of B S story I would be bothered w/ . But this, a true friend would know thta this is your dream, and wish you luck instead of bashing you for not being able to attend

I would NOT be angry at all-and if she gets angry-what kind of friend is she. This is a wedding-the bar exam review effects your entire life-much more important.

I would not be angry but would be dissapointed.

Is there any way for you to be there for part of it?

I think if she's a real friend....she'll understand all the time and effort that you have put into something that is eventually going to be your career..... VS. missing her bridal shower... I might be upset that you're not there...but would completely understand your reasons for missing it!

Good Luck!

thank you everyone - i spent some time crying last night but i feel a little better after hearing all of your opinions. there really isn't any way i could make both the shower and the review - my review is 9-4:30 and the shower is 11-3. go figure! once again - i really appreciate all of your advice.

I agree with eveyrone!

but I am kind of biased of course...

i think the general consensus is that she might feel disappointed but would understand and definitely do something special for her after... like lunch or something....

i would not be angry at all

I am in a similiar situatuin...one of my best friends is getting married in September and her bridal shower is in July on a saturday

however I am taking saturday grad school classes which are from 9-3:30 so i will be missing the majority of it since it starts at 12...i cannot miss the class because the course is only 5 weeks and its only 5 saturday classes so i cant miss the class because its my last class of the session and most likely i will be taking a final at the end of it...I already told my friend and she said its ok if i dont make it..however i offered to help plan the bridal shower and think of games and I also rented a wishing well and umbrella so she knew I helped out..

dont worry..she wont be mad....!!!!

Re: Helllp!

i was in the same exact situation last year. this is what you do...go to the shower for an hour and limit yourself to that. explain to her ahead of time. i had to do the same thing and my bf was so happy i even came. then, the hour or two that you miss, just get the dvd and watch it on your own. from someone who totally understands where you are coming from, believe me, you need a break anyway, and its not a huge deal at all to get the dvds. sure it cuts into your study time a little but the reality of it is, it doesn't make a difference in the long run and your friend will be happy. GOOD LUCK ON THE BAR...hang in there!

I would if I were jealous and completely self centered!

If I were in your shoes and my friend did show signs of being upset about me missing her shower, I would seriously reconsider my decision to be in her bridal party!!!
