wow! that is an amazing list!!! I wish I got on LIW before I got my RH, I researched what to ask for a week and ur list hits every point!
Lisa congrats on the engagement and have the best time planning ur wedding!!! and good luck with the appointments - so fun! just one piece of advice: don't 'love' everything, try to be more critical of all that is offered, what ur getting for the price and of how each RH looks. I know that I made that mistake when I was looking

Re: Hello!
Welcome and congrats!
The Inn at New Hyde Park is amazing. I really loved it and probably would have booked it...but it was a bit over my price range for a Fri or Sat night in Nov. Their new cocktail hr room is awesome.
My best friend is getting married at Carlysle this july. I love the ballroom. It's beautiful.
I've never been to the others, but will be going to a wedding at Carltun in a few weeks.

Re: Hello!
Welcome and Congrats!!
I've been to weddings at all but the Royalton (my friend is getting married there this October). And I had a great time at all of them. i was considering the Carlyle when i was looking.
Definately take your time and do not feel pressured to pick an RH. That being said, Sept and Oct are extremely popular months! But most places will hold the date for a day or two if you are torn. If not - it wasnt meant to be.

Re: Hello!
I checked the Royalton and The Inn at New Hyde Park.. I went to the royalton first and when i walked out i looked at my fiance and said.. This is the place.. he couldnt go to the INn with me and personally i wasnt even goin to check the Inn out until my parents were like.. I think you should at least just look at it. SO I said ok.. When I walked in I thought it was beautiful.. but still wasnt sold.. I walked into the ballroom and its gorgeous its big and has bars on each side of the ballroom which was important to me..not the roll in bars. it was full bars.. the room was beautiful.. but i was still lovin the royalton.. until we walked upstairs and saw the new cocktail hour room. we were all blown away!!!! I knew after that it was the place.. but ofcoarse I still looved the royalton so when my fiance came back that night with me to look at it. I said to him your the deciding factor. if you loove this place its where we are gettin married.. after he saw it he was like.. definately the place for us!! :) hope this helps.. (i still say check out the Royalton... I loooved it, but overall we went with the Inn).. :)

Re: Hello!
That's so funny. I have an appt to view the Royalton right before my appt at the Inn at NHP. I'm also viewing the Carlyle in the morning. All this is right after I run a half marathon, so should be interesting.
BTW, how long do appts usually take on average?

Re: Hello!
Ask if they have any upcoming construction projects coming up. I remember last summer I went to the Carlyle and they were just starting construction on a new patio. Also last summer when i went to the royalton they were doing construction on a new cigar bar upstairs. I ended up choosing the royalton over carlyle, carltun etc but they all have very different feels so you need to go with your own style. All locations will be a really nice wedding.

Re: Hello!
Congrats and welcome! I think you have all really beautiful places on your list and you'll have a great time looking. I'm getting married this July at the Royalton and we were choosing b/w it and the Caryle on the Green. Both are beautiful. Ultimately we went with the Royalton because we thought it had a more intimate feel and because the entire event is customized to the particular couple. There are no set menus to choose from - you and the Royalton work together to put together your dream menu. Oh and another huge factor was that the Royalton comes with a lot of extras for the money. For instance, the Royalton includes a Viennese hour for free whereas it was like $15pp at the Caryle. That said, the Caryle is gorgeous and you can tell that it is very well run. You can' t go wrong with either. Good luck!
