Hello and Goodbye Kissers: Redux

Original post by MonkeyLuv

Mr Boots has a friend who insists upon this, and it makes me very uncomfortable. Partly this is because this friend has a problem with personal space and he's very touchy-feely which: ick! and part of it is that I don't like the whole kissing thing from someone I'm not personally close to.

I also have a whole theory about why this guy does it and the mentality behind it, but that would take a while.

Here's the question:
Next time I see Friendly McHands would it be wrong to say, 'Hey, could we not do that? I don't feel comfortable with that.' Or do I just suck it up and keep my mouth shut about my discomfort?

Also this guy now lives around the corner so we see him more often.

Or just come at him with your mouth wide open and stick your tongue out like you want to give him a frenchie. Maybe that'll scare him off!

Do people still say FRENCHIE?

Re: Hello and Goodbye Kissers: Redux

I hate kissing people I don't know. I used to hate this when I was a kid and my mom would make me kiss relatives or family friends. In this day and age, you never know who is safe and who is not safe - especially when most sexual assaults occur at the hands of someone known to a family.

I refuse to make my children (when I have them) kiss anyone against their will. It gives me the creeps. I never run up and kiss my nieces and nephew - they always come to me because I respect their personal space. If I really DO want to, I ask permission first. I usually never have to ask them and it seems so much more genuine when a child does it on their own. They develop a sense of trust with people rather than doing what is socially acceptable because 'mommy made them' do it. One of my nephews is almost 13 and I NEVER have to ask him for hugs.

Sorry about this rant.
