Mr Boots has a friend who insists upon this, and it makes me very uncomfortable. Partly this is because this friend has a problem with personal space and he's very touchy-feely which: ick! and part of it is that I don't like the whole kissing thing from someone I'm not personally close to.
I also have a whole theory about why this guy does it and the mentality behind it, but that would take a while.
Here's the question: Next time I see Friendly McHands would it be wrong to say, 'Hey, could we not do that? I don't feel comfortable with that.' Or do I just suck it up and keep my mouth shut about my discomfort?
Also this guy now lives around the corner so we see him more often.

Oh, I think you should just jokingly say 'I feel like I just kissed you yesterday - Oh, wait, I did - you live around the corner now!'

Maybe I'll do that... seems less 'Ew, get away from me!'

Acutally, I do think it gets tiresome to kiss some people everytime you see them if you see them quite often. We have friends that we sometimes see on two separate occasions in one day and sometimes I just avoid the contact by literally hiding behind DH and saying Oh, Hi!! You again!
I think the fact that he's just moved nearby is totally your way out...

I hope so.
What's ever stranger is that we were playing cards at Kissy McHands place and some of his friends came over and they gave me the hello and goodbye kiss too!
Hello!! You are strangers!!!

Go with it! Our best friends just bought the house next to us - - we're lucky if we even say hello, let alone some larger greeting!

i know a few people like that - I tell them I haven't been feeling well, and I don't want to get them sick.
After about 6 weeks with a cold, they get the hint.

Ick...I have a neighbor that does that. Please don't touch my face and kiss me on the cheek. You're not my mother and I don't need to be groped by some 60 year old lady who never washes her hands..

I love this.
Monkey, I feel your pain. This is so something that I would ponder. I don't know what to tell you.

You could also tell him with body language. Like keep moving when he comes in & keep talking, 'Hi so & so ( go to close the door) good to see you want something to drink ( turn & gesture to the kitchen. . .etc. )

How about something funny, like, 'Sorry, I don't kiss other men in front of Mr. Boots....'

when someone tries to kiss me and i don't want them to......i pretend to be searching for something....in my purse, my pocket, a different room!
Being a huge prude has it's advantages

See, now I'm confused!! I thought this was a Long Island thing!!
Where I grew up, in Delaware, no one touched when they said hello. We had a nice, pleasant 6 foot radius around us as we waved to each other.
I liked it that way.
But when I moved to Long Island, suddenly people I JUST met decided that they could get to first base with me!!
It took me a looooong time to get used to it.
Some people are still a little too close for me, so I also practice the Palebride method of searching for something or having something large in my hands (like an anvil or a meat cleaver) so they know to back away.

I tend to be very hot and cold on the issue... close friends of mine, family, etc they're all welcome to the occasional kiss. Generally, I'm a hugger though.
Everyone else, please take 3 steps back and wave.
Kissy McHands does it because he thinks he's a ladies man, I think.

Or just come at him with your mouth wide open and stick your tongue out like you want to give him a frenchie. Maybe that'll scare him off!
