Hello Everyone!

This is my first sign on. I was encouraged by a friend to join your happy group. I am the mother of the bride and I would appreciate any advice. My daughter is recently engaged and we are just beginning this wedding journey.

I am sure she will join in soon but for now, I hope to learn much from you ladies.

We are beginning with an engagement barbecue this July, any suggestions?

Welcome! I would go for a Luau theme. Party City has a lot of Hawain party themed decorations. I would also do magaritas, pina Colada etc, they sell the little umbrellas etc. Unless she wants to go in the oposite direction. Then I would go with the bamboo theme, more tropical and less colorful. Fortunoff has alot of plactic glasses, plates, etc. for that type of party. Has she chosen a style/them?

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! We haven't made any major plans except the engagement party on July 18th. We do have our first appointment at the Tall Grass Country Club next Sunday. Any one booked there yet? Any suggestions?
