I just wanted to say hello to you all. This is my first time posting anything on the website. This site is great !!!! Our wedding is 4/19/08.
We have our church, reception hall (Westbury Manor, LOVE IT!!!!) and band booked. We are now looking into photographers and video. Does anybody have any recommendations.
What else should I be looking into right now....

Hi! My wedding is a couple of weeks after yours. i've heard wonderful things about westbury manor. if you don't know already, check out the brides review to see what past brides have said about your reception hall. it's also a great place to find vendors that people seemed to like. this website is great in getting the inside scoop to vendors that were reviewed well and those reviewed badly. i booked patken for photo and video. i think you should do some research on different studios to figure out pricing and style. if you like their style, definitely make an appointment to see them in person. i think you should also look for your bridal gown soon because a lot of times it takes 6-8 months to order. anyways, enjoy the planning process and congratulations!

You can also shop around for florist, alot of people even booked limo already, and also to look for your dress.

Thanks for the tips - I am going to look into these photographer & video. It's going to be so hard to decide. I am going to start looking for my wedding dress but I would like to lose some weight before I try some on... I did go to Macy's bridal salon in Long Island to look for bridesmaid dress and flower girl dresses last weekend..

Congrats on your engagement and on finding this website! It is truly the best resource for planning your wedding. Where else can you talk about your wedding 24 hours a day? Where else can you get tips and ideas first hand from girls planning the same event as you?

Welcome to LI weddings! That is great that you got some of thoese thigs done already! I went to Pedestals (Florist) and got a price on them, I am looking now into a few more florist... Photo and Video is next on my list, I worked with Artistan Photo Group for my E-party and they had great work. Good luck planning! Glad that you are here!

Welcome and congrats! You got engaged the day after I did!
After booking the photo/video, I'd look at florists next. Definitely figure out a flower budget before going in there, and make them work within that.
