Hello!!! I was right! My shower was Sat!!! :) (long)

Sorry I've been MIA all day, but I had major computer problems and have been proofing (can you imagine they expect me to actually do some work today? Anyway, here's my loooooonnnnnggg story!

Ok, so I get home on Fri and Joe walks over to the phones and erases the numbers on the caller id -- hint number one. We go out to eat and come back to a message from his mother saying her car has no breaks and she has no car (and I'm going Yeah right, but it did turn out to be true, she had to rent a car to come in!!!) and a message from his father, hint number 2 -- which was so friggin mumbled, all I understood was 'they can't get us in at 12, so get there between 12:30 and 1PM' -- BINGO!!!! Wake up Sat morning and I open the verticals in the livingroom -- Joe gets up and closes them -- and usually the first thing he does when he gets up is OPEN them. HMMMMM...... hint number 3

Then I hear him whispering in the hallway w/Nanny and then he disappears upstairs for awhile. Comes down, takes his shower and I'm cleaning up the kitchen and making the bed. I go in the shower and he leaves to go get gas. He comes back and sees it's 12:30 and I'm still not ready and has a fit!!! 'You're not ready yet? It's 12:30!!!!!' And I looked at him and said 'excuse me, now you know how I feel everytime we have to go somewhere and YOU'RE not ready!' (Besides, I was cleaning my bathroom more then the usual daily routine because I figured people were coming back and I was right!) I also slipped before we left, but Joe didn't catch me. He was looking for the bracelet his mother brought back for him from her cruise, which he doesn't like, and he couldn't find it and said forget it. But I said 'if you don't wear it, your mother will be pi**ed!' and I went oops to myself, but he didn't even hear me (typical).

Then we leave and Nanny is practically hiding behind her door upstairs saying 'you're leaving now? bye' -- poor thing had to walk in after the fact and I felt bad she missed me walking in! :(

We get on the LIE, which I don't know why because we could've gone side streets, but whatever. And he starts driving like his friggin a$$ was on fire and I'm screaming 'what the heLL is the rush? slow your a$$ down' and he tells me he's not driving crazy to calm my a$$ down!!! We get there and I'm a nervous wreck -- do I put my hair up (it was a mop because of the humidity) or down -- he, of course, wants it left down (the wilder, the better), but I looked like, as my nephew would say, a mangy dog (LOL) -- I leave it half up. We park, I put money in the meter and Joe starts DRAGGING ME DOWN THE BLOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the middle of the street I stop and say 'I'm not going in' and he looks at me and goes 'WHAT?' and I said 'I'm not going in, it's my shower, isn't it?' and he said 'No, let's go' and drags me the rest of the way. We walk inside and his father comes over and I'm lagging behind because I really don't want to go in now, I feel like I'm going to throw up. I hesitate when the door opens, but I see my friend's mother and my neighbor so I step in and hear SURPRISE and I was like 'Oh Geez'!!!!!! Of course they asked if I knew and I said 'yeah, I figured it out' and they thought it was because of my nephew (the poor thing), but I told them the lunch at 12 gave it away and his father's wife was like 'I knew it, we never do anything that early' and it's true!!!!

And then I look and see PRESENTS THE WHOLE LENGTH OF THE ROOM and said 'where the heLL is all that going and how the heLL is it getting there???' and everyone was laughing!! I thought I had a lot to open for my bridal shower, this blew it away!! I was opening for what felt like hours and I had to take a pee break and then a cake cutting and pictures w/the grandmas, great-grandmas, godmother, etc. But I got EVERYTHING and apparently everyone was ticked because the gifts were gone off both registries BEFORE the invitations were received! It wasn't my MIL, it was Joe's father's wife -- she would go online everyday to see if I registered and as soon as she saw my registry, she started buying!!!! My mother and I went through everything yesterday and got rid of all the clothes boxes, etc. and tried to consolidate everything -- we started at 1:30 and stopped at 8:30 with a dinner break in between!!!! I got only 2 outfits, but a million pj/stretchies in every size!! There were these 2 that I got about 5 -- one said Quack Quack and the other said Buzz Buzz and they came in double of each size! So that's the only thing going back. I got a diaper bag that I didn't register for, but there are no tags on it and I'll just leave that at my MIL's house. I sent her home w/one of the pack and plays and a bouncy seat my friend lent me. The one I registered for will stay at my house and I got another one I didn't register for that I was going to return, but I think I'll leave that at my mother's. The only doubles were the car seat base and the Sassy Linking Letters & Octopus.

It was very nice and they did a nice job, my mom, MIL and sister. Everyone had fun and won lots of presents! My MIL had given out dress bags at each table as a prize for whoever had the letter B under their chair -- which was hysterical because they were finding pennies and smiley faces from previous showers. And there were 2 other showers going on around me, one was a baby shower and the other a bridal and they were so loud in the bridal one, my mother was getting annoyed! LOL

I thought I was going to cry when I walked in, but I didn't. I ended up crying when my mother gave me a letter in a frame that she wrote to the Bear Cub -- then I had everyone crying. She did that for my nephew also. It was very touching.

The funny part was when Joe came back -- my friend asked him if he needed another car for the gifts and he goes 'I've got it all under control' so we walk out and I stopped dead in my tracks because there on the sidewalk (taking up the whole sidewalk) is his father's wife sitting (she pulled her tendon in her foot) on a chair AMIDST ALL MY GIFTS!!!!!!!!! Not one was put in the cars!!!! Then there was hardly any room for me and the balloons!! He had a fit with that. We get home and he's telling everyone to put them in the kitchen!!!! WHAT??? So my cleaned out bedroom is now filled to the rim with baby gifts!!!! LOL

My MIL, Nanny and my aunt outdid themselves in the crochetting/knitting dept and made some spectacular sweaters, blankets, etc. My MIL finally got to take the Christening coat she made when we GOT ENGAGED out of shrink wrap and give it to me!!!!!! She also made the Christening blanket, sweater, hat, booties, etc. And numerous other stuff. Not to mention all the stuff she bought!!!!

It was a wonderful day and was a lot of fun going through everything! I really go all the big stuff and the only things I didn't get were the Boppy, burpers, and other little stuff. I did get about 20 pacifiers -- most of them Looney Tunes!!! Oh and of course A BIZZILLION RECEIVING BLANKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My MIL and mother chipped in and my MIL made this cake out of receiving blankets filled with all sorts of 'goodies'. They should have used the cloth diapers (aka burpers) since I didn't get those!

The favors were these beautiful silver baby frames and they played Baby Bingo and Word Unscramble.

I ran out of room -- continued...

The prizes were beautifully decorated by my MIL and everyone wanted to win! I didn't get to eat much and I didn't even have the cake! But that's ok!!! My levels were all over the place that day because of my nerves!

It was a beautiful day and I was very lucky to have received all those beautiful gifts. I'm thinking this Bear Cub is going to be pretty spoiled by all my friends and family!

And are you all sitting down??? One of my friends had one of those disposable digital cameras, so I might actually be able to post some pix -- if spazzy me can figure it out! And I think another friend had her digital camera, so you might get lucky!!! I hope somebody took a pix of all the gifts pre-opening.

Whew, I think I'm done now!!!!

Thanks Claud!!! I'll be babbling away, don't you worry!!!

I forgot to tell you how Joe was like a kid in the toy store!! He had to play with every thing that made noise, etc.!!! And he would come in the room yesterday and say 'oh my God' and laugh whenever he saw something new!! I think it REALLY hit him this weekend!!!

And I FINALLY bought a dryer, no thanks to my DH! I've been bugging him for one for almost 2 years now, but I think since his grandmother didn't have one, he didn't think we did. Hello, welcome to the 21st century buddy!!
