HELLPPP I need to be BOOKED by now..................

we are looking a reception location that will fit our budget for 100-150 people ...
i was aiming for destination wedding but given the recession and family member losing jobs - --- seems like a BIG NO

any suggestions? we are trying to buy a house with a year so its a lil tough....

we are aiming for 2011.preferable May 2011 or April 2011.........
my own mindset was destination wedding but now that we are changing gears i feel like i need to be BOOKED by now.. esp in LI... im competing with proms, communions etc etc

I think Westbury Manor and Jericho Terrace have rooms that can hold that.

hey Im on a serious budget too! We booked at the Miller Place Inn. I think we got a good deal! I also thought i was going to have to get married in an off month( Nov or Dec) But the BM gave us the same price for June!! any other question FM me

ive havent looked at LI @ at. my head was in beaches, sand and turqouise waters.. SIGH!!

I priced a few placed out for April/May 2011 and got the best price at the Riviera of Massapequa. it is one wedding at a time, and if you pick a Friday wedding- you also get to pick what time it starts- it wont be a set time.

Westbury Manor and the Watermill were also reasonably prices and really pretty places.

Captain Bill's is perfect for 100-150 people and it has a destination wedding feel ( i think). It is right on the water and floor to ceiling windows and a beachy feel.

Try Chateau La Mer and the RIviera. CLM has a room upstairs that's very pretty (I was just there for a christening party) that they use for smaller weddings.

chateau briand was the least expensive of the ones we looked into and we looked at about 10 places. you'd be suprised how much more affordable a destination is lol as long as everyone pays for their own airfare. 30k later and i wish we would have just did a destination wedding. haha

if you can do weekdays or a sunday morning, it will really bring the price down. some people will do a cocktail reception which i think is really nice with just passed hourdourves throughout the evening. lots of ways to cut costs.

You can do mini destination wedding. I have heard there are places in montaulk where you can do a three day wedding. The only one I talked to was crows nest (i think that´s the name). They offered a 3 day wedding and it was only like $65 pp(if i remember correctly). This included a welcome on friday the ceremony and reception saturday, a bbq or beach fire saturday night and breakfast on sunday (breakfast on sunday was only for bride and groom i think) i think it also included the bride and grooms suite. They have rooms wehre all your guests can stay but depending on the time of year it can be expensive. there may be less expensive hotels in the area. I´m planning from overseas so I never got to look at this place in person.

I think you've still got some time, I wouldnt panic yet, but I would start looking around now. Check out Hamlet Willow Creek, its only a few years old and beautiful!

CLM gave us a great price for a sunday in july! and its on the water so you can do a beach theme and sorta have your destination feel

I just remembered . . . you can look into a Disney Wedding. They are actually much more reasonable than you think. For instance if you do it on a Disney cruise its only about $2-3k on top of the price of the cruise. (if i remember correctly) And I believe that you could get married on the boat or on Disneys private Island. They have short cruises that aren´t that expensive. For instance we are going on a 4 night one this October and I think it´s a little over $700/person. I depends on how many people are in the room. don´t know how expensive that would for your family but Depending on what your budget is for the wedding maybe you can cover a small percentage of the fee. Plus if you are doing a group you may be able to get better prices.

Its too short notice now but if I had been engaged when I booked the cruise I would have gotten married there!! But then again, I love disney!!!

Hi! I am having probably about 95-100 people at my wedding and it'll be at the Smithtown Landing Country Club! It's one of the Lessings properties - check it out and FM if you have any questions! They are INCREDIBLY reasonable. We were on a VERY tight budget as well. And they have incredible service, great food! (new chefs!) and beauttttiful rooms!

ITA. we had about 120 ppl and it was PERFECT. we didn't spend alot and it was amazing! good luck!
