Help..................

I recently became friends with a married couple. They got married 5 years ago and have decided to renew their vows. Even though we are newly friends, they were kind enough to invite me and my fiance. After the church ceremony, they are having a little dinner and dance (they are caterting it themselves) in the basement of the church. I was wondering what and if we should bring a gift? What do you give when someone renews their vows. They already got wedding gifts. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks guys, you are all the best! :-)

It sounds like you can bring a gift similar to one that you would bring to an anniversary party.

I would try to get something in the spirit of the anniversary year, like the first anniversary is paper, etc. I don't know what the 5 year one is though. Or what about a gift certificate to a local restaurant?

I would give a gift certficate to a resturant so they can spend qulaity time together on a date. Maybe 2 movie tickets and a gift cert. towards dinner near the movie. Or brunch at the Garden City Hotel or Carlton on the Park is nice. Depending on what you want to spend.

I think it would definitely be the courteous thing to bring a gift. Maybe something small, engraved with their names/date. I wouldn't go empty handed.

I think a gift certificate to a resturant is a great idea. If they like wine, you can also get them a nice bottle of wine. Another idea, is a pretty picture frame engraved so they can put a 5 year photo in it.
