HELP

Is the name Todd just 'Todd' or should I assume otherwise. These invites are a real Pain in the Azz

i know how you feel....FMIL gave me a list of vinnie's, rob's, bill's, ted's and larry's......and even a jenny...who really is JUST jenny...really annoyed me...when i would ask her if a name was 'bill' or william she would say 'does it matter?' #!%^#!^$!&!%& yes, it does!!!! geez. so after the first 20 'does it matter?' answers i stopped asking....and it turned out i was right...all of them were really the full names.

I got a similar list that I tried to use for STDs!!! I went to FH with 3 pages worth of questions on names. Some of them were tough, she resorted to the whole does it matter question too! Like I know cousin Buddy's parents didn't name him Buddy when he was born!!! I'm like he's probably a junior? They were like no, definitely not. I was right. Then there was a couple with two male sounding nicknames. Once they told me who the husband was, they came back with a totally random first name. His nickname was Ron so I figured it would be Ronald and it was something else.

ETA: Sorry to vent on your post! I'm glad I'm not the only one who got a list like that!

MY FH is greek, so when we got the list from his parents, all of the names were anglacized (ie Mike is actually Cosmas) so it was SO hard to get the correct greek names for our STD's......

i hear ya on the frustration........

FH is a Todd. It's amazing to me whenever I say his name people say 'TOM??' 'BOB?!?!

I thought it was a pretty common name to give kids in the 70's, guess it wasn't as common as I thought.

I think if you don't know someone's full name, don't use it or try to guess.

My name is Angi and a lot of people try to make me Angela (not even CLOSE to my name). Just makes me mad...

Better to go with what you know than to make a mistake like that!
