HELP!!!

HELP!!!

Our wedding is 6 weeks away, and we were supposed to make CDs at home for favors. This was the one (and only responsibility) of my fiance's and he hasn't done much yet. Now, we are having major problems with our computer, so I'm thinking that we should just forget the CDs. We went out and bought the blank CDs, cases and software, but I guess my fi can always use these. Anyway, one of the reasons we wanted to do CDs as favors is b/c they are less than $2.00 each. What else can I do that doesn't cost much????? I really need to stick to my budget and would rather spend $1.50 each w/o looking cheap. And, I have to have them in the next couple of weeks. I was really avoiding chocolate, but I might have to resort to that since I also don't want something that people can't use.
Thanks!!

Re: HELP!!!

You could always make a donation in the anme of the guests, and this way you can make it as much or as little as you would like.

Re: HELP!!!

Can you get to the Mikasa warehouse sale going on in Secaucus by Sunday? You can go anytime, but they're having this HUGE warehouse sale, which ends May 12, but the stuff is up to 70% off and they have a HUGE selection of favors to choose from and the prices are great. I bought my favors there last year and I got this really nice vase for $5.99 and I've seen the same thing in other stores for triple the price!!!

Re: HELP!!!

If you want to do candy check www.gotchocolates.com They have a five pack of truffles, individually wrapped in a celephane bag for $1.00! It was Lindt chocolate and it was pretty good. They shipped quickly - it took about 7 days to get the order but there was a problem with their dist. center and they sent us other some other piece of candy to make up for it. I digress

Anyways, what I was thinking about doing was breaking open the packages and give 4 to each guest, these truffles are quite large and 4 would be plenty, and put them in a little organza bag. Which you can get on E-bay for about $10 for 50 or wrapwithus.com for about the same price. But wrap with us has a warehouse out on the isalnd where you can pick them up and not worry about shipping delays.

So, for 150 guests you would need 120 truffle packs for $1.00 each plus $30 for the organza bags...grand total of $150 for 150 favors!

Re: HELP!!!

You can also wrap votive candles in tulle. That is not an expensive favor. Also consider seed packets. They sell them for not too expensive too.

Nina: My FMIL went to Century 21 in Long Island a few weeks ago and said she found these picture frames on sale for 1.99 (I'm going to try to post the pic here-if it doesn't work e-mail me at [email protected]). If you live far from Century 21, maybe you should call to make sure they still have them. My FMIL said they had a lot of other stuff too.

All you would have to do is wrap them (they should come in a box). You can get cheap wrapping anywhere-go to National Wholesale Liquadators or the 99cent stores, etc).

OK here's the pic:

Re: HELP!!!

I would just have your FI go out and get another CD burner.. youll always use it and you can still make the cds.. do you know anyone with a burner where you can make them? i went to www.heresheis.com they are hershey bars that are personalized.. i got the one that says jenson, and they have cute backs, they are about 1.30 each and you need to order at least 50.. but i didnt want to take the chance of melting so i bought only the wrappers that were about if i remember .95 and i am going to go to price club to get some hershey bars, and wrap them my self, that way you dont have to worry about storing them

Re: HELP!!!...Thanks everyone

for you great ideas. My fi really wants to do the CDs and it's not the CD burner that we're having problems with, it's the computer (windows 98) that needs help. So, my fi is going to give the computer to someone to fix and we agreed that if it's not fixed by the week that our RSVPs are due, than we are going to do chocolates, something easy like Lindt truffles and wrap them ourselves. Thanks again! I'm not going to stress about it!!

Re: ChristineC68

I went on to gotchocolates.com and saw what you were talking about 5 Lindt truffles for $1. I think it's a good idea to give 4 per person. What do you think about wrapping them in tissue paper tied with silver/white ribbon? Also, where is the wrap with us store in LI?? Thanks!

favors

Wrap with us has a warehouse on Robbins Lnae in Syosset. This is the link to their warehouse address & hours.

If you wanted to keep easy, I would use celophane paper instead of tissue paper. Tissue paper is a little too thin and might rip.
